We just got an early Xmas present!! :cheer2:

Some friends of my husband have given us 1 week in their timeshare. We got Sheraton's Vistana Resort May 22 - 28, 2005. There will be 6 of us going and we are getting AP's. I know we will be able to park free at the parks with the APs, but can we also purchase tickets to E-Ticket Nights? We were able to do an E-Ticket night in 2003 and it was awesome. I know we won't be able to do the early entrance. Last year we stayed at POR and never once made an early entrance!! But I love staying late after the parks have closed.

Also, how much of a hassle is it to leave the parks and return to Vistana for an afternoon break and then return to the parks. Not counting our first 2 trips to WDW, we have always stayed onsite and I am a little concerned about leaving the parks in the middle of the day. Of course, the 2 youngest will be 3 and 4 so we WILL have to leave for a break.

TIA for any help.

No E-night for offsite.

Only WDW resorts, D/S, the DD hotels.

now some people have say they have gone to a WDW resorts and brought their ticket and had no problems....

anyway rumors are that E-night will become part of surprise morning - I know they are trying it again in January and since last May they tried - I am definitely expecting it then.

the Sheraton Vistana is very close - you will not have a problem getting to WDW - but coming back can be a problem - get their directions for getting back to them. (if you get lost just follow the signs for DD).

it is not hard to find - this is a BIG resort - you can easily get lost on Sheraton Property.....

forgot - since you are going for a while you can wait - then make you a one night reservation at a WDW resort -like at Pop Century for one night -make that night your favorite park - also remember you get the next day too.

here is the new schedule as it currently stands for 2005

Extra Magic Hour Schedule starting 1/2/05

Sunday - Disney-MGM Studios (evening)
Monday - Epcot (morning)
Tuesday - Disney-MGM Studios (morning) and Animal Kingdom (evening)
Wednesday - Magic Kingdom (evening)
Thursday - Epcot (evening)
Friday - Magic Kingdom (morning)
Saturday - Animal Kingdom (morning)

And to stay for the evening you will need a Disney room key (no extra tickets!).

Also, not all Downtown Disney hotels participate in early entry (I think it is just the Hilton) not sure what will happen with the extra evening hours.

Thanks, everyone. I did not even think about booking a cheap room to get E-Ride and Early Entry!! Maybe I'll even luck out and they will be offering AP discounts on the rooms!! WooHoo!!

I own here and find it very easy to get to and from Vistana to the parks----exiting through the DD way may be easier (usually never more than a 7-10 min drive). We often takes breaks, especially when visiting during the summer months. The only park that will be a hassle is the MK. Having to go through the TTC (monorail or ferry and tram) can take easily an hour from start to finish during busy times. But you can come and go very easily from the other parks.

Unless you are staying in a Disney owned resort, the Swan, Dolphin, Hilton Lake Buena Vista or Wyndham Palace Lake Buena Vista you will not be allowed to go to the E ticket nights. They are strictly for those who are staying at the above mentioned resorts. In order to purchase a ticket, you would have to show your ticket media, along with your resort key. When you trade in the ticket for the wrist band, they will ask again to see your ticket media and room key. The same is true of Extra Magic Hours, whether they occur in the morning or the evening. Sorry! :sad2:

But there will be no tickets purchased for extra 3 evening hours. You just show your resort key and get a wristband. It's a free perk now for staying onsite! Yay! :)

Don't worry about it. I would never trade in Vistana for a few extra hours of park time. For us, the extra hours would only be used at MK. And if you are there a week or more, there is plenty of time to get to everything.

We stayed at Vistana in Sept.. Very Nice!! You will have a great time. You will have two bedrooms WITH DOORS! lol A KING bed. (It's hard for my DH and I to sleep on anything else since we have one at home) A kitchen and washer/dryer. Do you know what one of the best parts of our vacation was?? Coming home with NO LAUNDRY! :teeth: I would put in a small load every once in a while and my kids would fold it and put it away. It wasn't any big deal like I thought it was going to be.

Oh, have fun in the jacuzzi. I think I have permanant wrinkles caused by the length of time I spent in that thing. lol

Have fun.

Gee, that's what I'm getting at my DVC resort, plus EMH privileges.

I own both DVC and Vistana and I'll agree the perks of EMH and E-Nights are a big plus (along with package delivery which we use often).

But believe it or not, some people don't care about these things necessarily. My in-laws were given the choice of staying at OKW with us (we'd have to borrow points for their room), or staying at Vistana. They told us they liked Vistana so that's where they'll be this summer. We do enjoy both our timeshares, but DVC is the preferred because we're such disney nuts. Our inlaws can't understand how we enjoy going back to WDW every year.

I believe "Mom of Sleepy Bashful and BabyDoc" was referring to Vistana as being a "plus" over a non-DVC resort. The OP mentioned she stayed at POR in the past and "Mom of Sleepy...." was just saying how having all the extra room and washer/dryer/balcony/full kitchen etc at Vistana will make up for the loss of EMH/E Nights over a resort like POR. This was how I read it. And, since Vistana was a Christmas present for the OP, don't think she can go wrong there. Have fun with your "gift" Darlene.....feel free to PM/email if you have any specific questions about Vistana.

Thanks, Maria. I'll try to PM you tonight. I do have a couple of questions and you probably can answer them. :flower1:

Sounds good.....I'll be happy to help any way I can.

Wyndham doesn't. only the hilton.

there is no E_nights - it is now part of Extra Magic Hours. you must stay at a WDW resorts or Dophin/Swan or Hilton in DD to get this.
