We are staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in DTD and have 10 day world passes. I understand from elsewhere on these boards that we will be able to make use of e-ride nights.

My question is this. A friend and his daughter are also travelling the same time as us. He has park hopper passes but is staying at the Quality Inn on International Drive. I understand that this means he is not entitled to make use of e-ride nights. Could I buy the e-ride ticket for him if I show his and his daughter's park hopper pass? I know this is something he would really love to do and it would mean my son would have some kid company if they can come along with us.

Any idea anyone?

Just to answer your question and not get into the morals of this but yes you can do that. And don't ask me how I know ;)

Roberta

Edited to add: You may only have to show your pass and still be able to make multiple E-Ticket purchases.

You answered your own question...

I understand that this means he is not entitled to make use of e-ride nights.

I'm assuming you mean is there a way to do it despite the fact that you're not supposed to? Probably, but when we went in 2000, we had to show our resort ID's.

I take your point peachgirl - my OP should have included a question mark after "I understand he is not entitled to make use of e-ride nights" - it was meant to be a questioning statement. I wanted to clarify where we stood.

There is a strong reason (which I am not prepared to go into at this point) for asking about this. He usually stays on-site but this time he isn't. We just wanted to be sure what was allowed and what wasn't.

If you knew the circumstances, you would understand that your sarcasm, whether intentional or not, was extremely hurtful.

We usually stay at FW. They allow us to have "Day Guest" (We give their names at the Front Desk) and they have been able to take advantage of whatever we take advantage of. I say enjoy your stay and your guest.

Your original post seemed pretty clear to me. You knew what the rules were, you were asking for ideas on how to get around them.

No matter what the circumstances, e-nights are reserved for onsite guests. If you have some special circumstances that you think should exempt you from that policy, I would suggest contacting WDW and asking them.

Not saying that I would ever think to do this....;) but I would imagine there is nothing stopping you, by giving your friend one of your resort keys(I think you and your kid can get one). Or even yet, tell them you are sharing a room. The deluxe rooms have a least 2 queen beds. And even at that, what's not saying you are a gay couple, sharing the bed! LOL :jester:
~Just my 2 cents!
Right?!

Thats where you are wrong. They are not reserved for "onsite" guests. Courtyard by Marriott DTD isn't strictly on site - its just an "Official Walt Disney World Hotel" but that still qualifies.

As for the rest of your post, just remember that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. I choose to ignore anything else you have to say. Your opinion just isn't that important to me. And if it was intended to goad me into spilling the beans as to why I am asking about the e-ride tickets you are unlucky - I wouldn't give you the satisfaction. If I am attacked, I fight back.

lwestwise and Kerlynne - thank you for posting - I've PM'd you both. lwestwise - I think I will follow your suggestion and see what happens. It would be lovely to have them along with us.

Just so it's clear, here's the guideline for who can purchase e-night tickets:

"Disney Resort Guests, Hotel Plaza Blvd. Guests, Swan, Dolphin and Shades of Green Guests with multi-day passes can purchase a ticket for an after-hours party in the Magic Kingdom Park."

So, no matter who else can buy them, your friends can't.

When you post a question asking for ideas on how to get something that you or your friends aren't entitled to, don't expect every post to be pixie dust.

As far as your "circumstances", I'm not the least bit interested. No circumstance excuses doing something you shouldn't do. If your circumstances warrant it, WDW is very generous in such matters.

As far as your thinly veiled insult........Give me a choice of being witless and being dishonest and I'll take witless any day of the week. I find it amazing that you're trying to get ideas on how to get something you aren't entitled to and yet somehow I'm the bad guy for pointing out that it's wrong. Looks like I'm the one being attacked and I fight back too.

I think the poster got his question answered. There is no need continuing this thread.

Just a note...personal attacks WILL NOT be allowed on the DIS.
