E-cigarettes Not Good for Health

I am glad they are testing these things now. It seemed too good to be true, that they were completely safe.

Wow... :sad2:

As if inhaling nicotine vapor isn't bad enough, they spice it up with some OTHER chemicals, including one that's found in anti-freeze and toxic to humans, and other known carcinogens? And this is a "healthy way to smoke"?

Just... wow.

If both are bad, does it matter which one you use?

If one is better than the other (even if both are still "bad"), why not choose the "better" one?

If they are both on the same on the "bad" scale, why not choose the e-cigarette. At least those have a lesser effect on those around the "smoker".

If you're going to "smoke", my guess is that you don't care that much about your health anyway. So, just choose the one that you like better. If you care at all about other people's health and/or respect their desire the be healthier, choose the e-cigarette so you impact them less.

Plus, the e-cigarettes have the added benefit of allowing you to "smoke" in places where you wouldn't be able to smoke traditional cigarettes.

I still recommend electronic cigarettes.

As for the report: they sampled 18 cartridges and found traces of that chemical in one cartridge; the 18 cartridges were from two companies, both of whom obtain their juice from China (Njoy and Smoking Everywhere).I also read that said antifreeze chemical is used in processing regular tobacco for cigarettes. Hmm.

I buy my juice from an American company, Johnson Creek. I have been completely off cigarettes since April 2009, and when I did a lung function test two weeks ago my lung capacity had come back to a great extent.

Mind, nicotine is still a poison. The purpose of the electronic cigarette is to stop smoking. I tried nicotine gum to no avail, as well as that pill. At least with the electronic cigarette I quickly (within two weeks) stop smoking regular cigarettes.
