E-bay I was burnt (LONG)

So I'm looking for this camera and going through all the KITS (I bought my Cam Cord this way no problem).I come across 1 thats a little cheaper not much .

The auction says it's for Charity .I go through Feedback and looks very good they are mostly buyers but sell on occasion 1 neg out of several hundred for not clearing customs.Also very active account with 1 simular well exact but different camera.No changes (wording, paypal,shipping cost nothing different).

So I ask them some questions after auction ends and get imededite response(as well as answer to another question) .

Then get paypal shipping track and it doesn't change after a couple days so I ask again about that same thing answer right away Son shipped on such and such So Ok holidays and all no problem .

Then it hits Neg from another E-bayer same listing different Camera So I again contact them (through Listing ask seller as before) and now they are saying they are cristian people and someone has done this to them.

However they are still using account even sold stuff with positive feedback recieved.

So now I have to wait (went right to paypal for resolution) and tell DW shes not getting her camera now.

Should I try to persue this futher getting authorities involve due to the charity thing or just get my money back and let it go.

I also left Neg feedback(1st time had to do that) and I guess I will get it in return .Sorry so long let me find DW Thanks for listening

I would pursue it until you feel it is resolved so that they will not do this to someone else.

Did they use a tracking number? I hope this gets resolved. Keep contacting the seller.

I just got burnt too. I bought a used TiVO for father's day off of ebay and had it shipped to my dad. He never opened it until I came home for Christmas. It was missing the remote. I got a universal remote and got it hooked up. It was acting very flaky and now my dad can't get it to work at all. Ebay seems to only hold records for 90 days so I don't know what to do now. Ugh!

Did you buy insurance? ALWAYS buy insurance. Is it still within 30 days of the auction? If so, report it to Ebay and you may still get your money back. If you are outside of the 30 days, you can try your credit card company (if that's what you used), etc. Ebay will not help you after 30 days. Sorry.

hmmm, I wonder if this is the same seller that almost got us???? DH won an auction on ebay for a camera as well. After the auction seller tells DH via email that he will not ship it until 10 days after the auction for whatever reason. DH tried to get ahold of this seller via email for over a week without response. The 10 days came and went and no notification that the camera shipped. DH filed a claim with ebay as well as several others who bought the same camera (seller had positive feedback initially). After about a month we finally got our money back.

Yes I did buy the Ins. used Paypal and Credit card through this .

So I should get my money back and it's under the 30 day mark.

This is why I left the Neg feedback and now have been contacted by other that fell pray to this as well.

The Seller contacted me saying to just dispute with Paypal but they are still activly useing both( E-Bay & paypal )accounts .It looks like the sold 1 kit ,shipped it and all went well they have Pos. feedback from buyer .

Then they just did 4 or more with no intent but to take your money.Unless the 1st one was also done by the Scammers that stole their account .But then wouldn't they have noticed if they were still buying and selling other things.These were all for over $400 kits so you would notice then right.

I've been burned by eBay before too. I bought a high-end flat iron which the seller claimed came with a 4-year warranty. Of course when I went to register my product with the manufacturer, they said they only honoured warranties if purchased from an authorized seller. And to top it off, the seller also took an extra $10 which I paid for express shipping and only used regular shipping.

I'm in the process of disputing the purchase through Paypal but I doubt that I'll win (I was told by a friend they usually rule in favor of the seller in "item significantly not as described" cases). Oh well, lesson learned.

I thought I got scammed on Ebay once. The item was only a $20 item, so no big deal really, but it was sooo weird!! I won the auction, sent payment (money order) and then NOTHING happened! The seller started getting a lot of negative feedback (was a relatively new seller but I believe in giving new sellers a chance) and then became a no-longer-registered user. I filed the proper complaints with Ebay, who did nothing. Lo and behold, TWO MONTHS later, my item arrives, in perfect condition, but with NO explanation for the delay!! It was so weird! I'm thinking maybe they went in the hospital or something, but why not send a note of explanation with the item?? So, I wasn't really scammed, but I thought so for a while. I hope your story also has a happy ending and you get either your item or your money!

If your account has been taken over I would think the first thing that Ebay would do is freeze the accout - especially paypal. They will snap your account closed a that hint of hacking.

I would begin that investigation with Ebay's safeharbor immediately.

I've been burnt, scammed, whatever you want to call it by several Ebay sellers. I guess that is the chance you take when you buy on Ebay. Cause Ebay doesn't help or back you up in any way.

Ignore the negatives. You can work through those. You simply need to make sure that you have contacted Safe Harbor before 30 days. If you do not, you will be out your money. The scammers know this.

I believe you are also able to put a rebuttal on your negative feedback from him.

I know but 100% pos is ruined because of this .

I started the Paypal Item not delivered as soon as I saw the other neg. and he wouldn't return my e-mails (Safe Harbor Just sent me to Paypal as well).

I rebutted that My money is gone because of your account and thats my fault.

Update Paypal is returning my money . I still don't know what to think though .He has recieved more neg feedback with different excuses (wife in coma ,sick,account hi-jacked) However everytime he gets a neg. he seems to get a positive from an auction from months ago.

I think he did all of this and even though I am getting my money back I'm thinking this guy should be brought up on charges due to the charity thing it just turns me off to donating money because of all the deception out there.
