we need a new vacuum. Are the Dyson's worth the money? Sam's have the complete system for under $450. Any ideas? :confused3

If you have hardwood and tile...go for it. I have found NOTHING else that has the power to pick up fine particles.

I would love an Oreck but I do NOT want bags.

I love my Dyson! Especially if you have animals that shed. I have never had a vacuum that picks up our Shelties shedding like the Dyson.

When we got ours, we got it at Lines N Things they let us use the 20% off coupon, but I understand that isn't always the case. But, it never hurts to ask!

I have had a Dyson for a couple of years (the yellow) and LOVE it. Best vacuum I've ever owned and the suction is great. It's nice to not have belts or bags either.

We just got the purple pet Dyson and it is the best investment ever. As soon as dh put it together, I ran the vacume over the carpets that had been vacumed with our rugualr vacume and it picked up so much. You will love it!

I love my purple Dyson. I've had to change the hose a few times and they have always sent one at no charge to me. It does a great job, I don't think I'll ever have another vacuum besides a Dyson.

I can beat "linen and things" price at Sams. Theirs is still about $ 50 cheaper than anyone else with all the extras.

Bought the Ball model at Linens and Things and got to use my 20% coupon. I don't think you can find a better deal than that. Sam's Club prices on the Dyson are not any lower than othere stores. Linens and Things had the yellow ball, the lower yellow, both animal and a red model.

I was so skeptical about getting a Dyson. I was happy with my other vacuum, but my DH was whining. Three years later I am still thrilled!!! It still picks up well,a nd does great on all types of flooring in my house. I couldn't have asked for a better vacuum. Truly a good investment!

I'll let you know soon. I bought one Tuesday of this week. Loved it. Thursday, a piece of the beater bar thingy broke off while I was vacuuming. I called Dyson, they are sending a new beater bar. I would return it to the store but I found it at Big Lots and it was the last one in stock.

I was anti-Dyson because I thought it was a fad and status symbol. We, instead, listened to Consumer Reports and bought a Hoover Windtunnel. It fried itself in 8 months and we bought another one. It fried itself in a year. So we bought a cheapo vaccum at Target for $80. All in all, we spent $500 in 3 years for vaccums that weren't worth the box they were packaged in.

By this time, I met people IRL who had invested in a Dyson and loved it. I found a 20% off coupon and bought the yellow one at LnT. What can I say, I'm kicking myself for not buying it 3 years ago. It's obvious CR never vaccums =)

I use it on my hard surfaces and my carpet. The stuff that came out of the carpet the first time we vaccumed was amazing. I couldn't believe we were living with all that stuff in the carpet! Our cheapo vaccum just couldn't get it out.

I love having no bags to buy. It was $300 well spent.

(ps - the purple animal and the yellow are the SAME vaccum; purple just has a few more attachments. we decided the attachments weren't worth an extra $100 but only you know what attachments are needed in your house)

I've had mine since Feb. and I love it!

Back then there was a big thread hereon the DIS on Dysons... you could do a search for it.

Watch Amazon. I got my Dyson for around $275.00! It was a refurb model and I used a great Valentine's Day code that brought down the price even more.

My model is one sold only at Costco. In addition to the regular attachments it has the a bare floor and pet hair attachment. Plus it has an additional filter. When cleaning your filter you have to wait 12 hours ofr it to be completely dry before using. The additional filter has been great for that reason.

Refurbs are a great way to go. They are often just vac's returned because someone did not like the color or the way it handled. Mine had not a scratch on it... and has performed perfectly.

My mom and sister are huge Oreck fans. They snooted the Dyson, until just this week. My sister's cheapy vac broke. She borrowed mom's Oreck. Then she borrowed my Dyson. Let's just say that she and my mom are on the verge of converting. :thumbsup2

I did the math and for the DC14 with the accessories the price would be $550. The Sams price is $459 and it has the mini turbine head, stiff bristle brush and the mattress cleaning tool. I some my not like walmart or Sams but this deal even bet Costo.

I just ordered mine on Wednesday from Ebay. I'm waiting for it to be delivered. I'm sooo excited I can't hardly stand it. :Pinkbounc

I went and got it today and it is a nice vac. The wife was surprised that I paid $460 for it.After cleaning one rug and cleanning under the refridge, it was time to dump it. Very easy to use. :thumbsup2

i just got mine on saturday at kohl's sale/ it is the dc 07. i was able to get it for $324 inc. tax b/c i used the 20% coupon i had...i wish i had a 30% off one though!! but it is so worth it. i used it as soon as i got home and all of the pet hair that came off my carpets was insane!!! and i had JUST vacuumed the day before......my husband thought it was a waste of money buy BEFORE he saw how much hair & dust it sucked out of the carpets...we thought it was clean BEFORE...now i feel much better getting all that stuff out of my house!

I bought one a couple of weeks ago and love it!!!!
