Dyson vs Rainbow vacuum?

I've seen a couple posts on how great the Dyson vacuum is on here. I was wondering if anyone has had a Dyson and a Rainbow? How would you compare the two? I've always had a Rainbow, and this last one needs to be replaced. The Dyson is sooo much cheaper! Is it as good as a rainbow? I have hardwood floors, no carpet. Is the dyson good for hardwood? Is it easy to maintain, I hate that if I forget to change the water in the rainbow right away it gets musty. God forbid I leave it for a few days, I have to take it to be cleaned! I also have a problem bumping things with the canister, is an upright easier to move around? The only upright I've ever used was my grammy's Kirby and that thing is a monster. Thanks for any comments.
