We have the deluxe dining plan for our upcoming trip. Are we able to one day use a CS credit in place of a TS? I know thats not the best use of credits and that is the only one we would do but it's a day where I have to have my girls back to the room for a nap before their BBB appt.
TIA

With the deluxe plan you don't have TS or CS credits. You just have "credits". They can be used at TS or CS as you prefer. You could do all CS if you want. The only thing to pay attention to is which TS restaurants cost 2 credits. When we've done the deluxe plan we do use some at CS places just because we don't want to do every single meal as a sit down.

Thanks for the reply...that's what I thought but I wasn't sure. We have done the Dxdp before and enjoy it because I book all the character meals and some 2 TS credits. Then I don't have to worry about standing in line to get autographs in the heat of summer, we can do it at our air conditioned table and for me, that's a win/win situation:thumbsup2

As for CS not being the best use of credits, the general rule of thumb is that if you use 2/3 or more of your credits for TS, you're going to come out OK financially on DxDP. (Naturally, this varies on what, specifically, you order and whether or not you use all the appetizers and desserts you're entitled to.)

One way to look at it is to think of it as basic DDP plus 1 TS/night and 1 snack/night. When you consider the fact that your TS meals can also include an appetizer, the extra $30/night is reasonable. Plus, you essentially get the option to "trade in" the basic DDP CS credit for TS, if you want to. Granted, that's not really how it works, but thinking of it in those terms lets you easily see what the difference between the two plans is.
