We are planning on doing the deluxe dinning on our next trip. 3 of those days my husband will be golfing and paying for his food out of pocket while the kids and I hit the parks. This will leave us with 3 unused adult credits. If my oldest wanted to order off the adult menu at one of the sit down resturants instead of the kids menu could she do this? (She will be considered a child, but since we'll have the extra adult credits could she use those) Then we end up with 3 unused child credits instead of 3 unused adult ones.

Otherwise my hubby is going to have to order two meals 3 of our nights which may require I pack his fat pants. :rotfl:

I think you'll be ok, since you can use up to 2 adult meals at a time, and you're doing so.

Of course, DxDP credits aren't broken down by adult/child so it's mostly academic, if you track them correctly.

On the DxDP, you get 3 TS per day, if he's gone three days, that's 9 TS meals... Perhaps the DP would work better unless you're doing signature every day, I can't imagine you'd manage to use up the 2/3 considered break even... Especially since a CS meal easily feeds two kids...

My understanding is that they make the kids order off the kid menu if there is one. Since their credits cost less to buy. If you offered to use a credit for a "kid meal" (whether they bring it or not) and use another for the adult meal, they shouldn't object... but I would imagine any reasonable server, presented with that offer, would just say "oh it's ok I'll let you upgrade".

Policy is though, kids from kid menu, period. As I understand it.

As long as you're not using more meals than what is listed it shouldn't be an issue. EG, 2A and 3C, means you can order a max of 2A and 3C, kids using an adult credit to purchase an adult meal should be ok. The servers don't know if your 8? year old is a young looking 10.

From the sound of it, you may be planning 3 meals per day? Breakfast together, hubby's buys lunch on the course, and all meeting for dinner? (That's how I interpret the 3 extra credits).

Now, depending on length of the stay, if what I'm interpreting is correct, having 3 extra adult credits shouldn't hurt. (DxDDP is much more flexible in terms of having to use all credits, as long as you use roughly 2/3 of the credits at TS locations, you're going to break even). So, even if this isn't possible, that should give you some peace of mind.

As far as the possibility. I would be led to think that it should be fine, since you're a) not looking to break the 2A/2C per meal thing and b) looking to pay utilizing an adult credit and not a children's one. However, I don't always think like Disney does, and it may be best to ask at meal time. If it's not possible, then just keep in mind that having 3 extra adult credits isn't going to cause a loss on the plan (even if just a 3 night say, if DH is skipping 3 meals that puts him at the 2/3 point, plus the 3 meals you and the kids eat without him will help cover the "cost" of those 3 extra credits).

Not sure about your ADRs but can you add another signature meal to your plans? For example, do CRT for lunch (2 TS) and then California Grill for dinner (2 TS). So that would be 4 TS for one of the days. This would all depend on what you already have planned.

The only other 2 TS credit place opened for lunch, I think, is Brown Derby. So you could do the same thing for your Studios day.

Or, get a couple sandwiches at the counter service place to eat on the plane ride home!

... for all the helpful feedback. I think I'll look at our schedule and see if we can't squeeze in an extra meal somewhere if not I love the idea of picking up a few sandwiches for the plane ride home. Our last trip was McDonalds from the airport on the way home Yuck :)
