DxDP credits shared for whole party? Is my credit allocation math correct?

So, I think we can do this from all my research, but I would appreciate confirmation from people who have actually done this in the past. Would hate to plan this all out, get down to WDW & find out it's not possible.

Here's the scenario: We are a party of 6 with 2 resort rooms, 2 people in 1 room & 4 people in the other. We are staying for 7 nights. If we add the DxDP to the room with 2 people, can we use those credits for all 6 of us? My fear is that we won't be able to share them.

If my math is correct we will have 42 meal credits to use (2x3x7=42), or 7 credits per person for the 6 of us. This doesn't include the snack credits, which would be 28 sc (2x2x7=28).

We plan on eating at CRT (2), Cali Grill Sunday Brunch (2), Homecoming (1), BoG-D (1), & Bon Voyage Breakfast (1). Which is 7 credits total pp. Right? Is my math correct?

Also, I know we have to prepay for CRT regardless of DDP or not. Do we get that $$ back after we use our credits there? Is there a way to be refunded earlier than our trip?

TIA for any feedback!

Your math is correct. I haven't actually done the sharing, but all reports here have been that it is not a problem at the restaurants you're planning.

We did it in both May & Oct 2016. Hope to do it again this trip.

When you check in, explain that you've prepaid and want to use DxDP credits. You will get a refund.

So if you are using all your entitlement for dinner, what are you going to do for other meals? Paying out of pocket? is my assumption .... You might want to see what the QSDDP would cost for the room with 4 people and share them for breakfast and lunch. It might be cheaper than paying out of pocket... You might want to run the number to see.

If you book your package before making your CRT reservation, you do NOT have to pre-pay. The system will know you have the DDP and you will just need to use a credit card guarantee.

If you do the QSDP for the other room, that will differentiate between adult and kids meals, unlike the DxDP. It is VERY difficult to get the QSDP to work out financially with adult meals.

We are planning on paying oop. I ran the numbers, & it's about the same as we had budgeted for food. I think we're going to add it, for convenience sake. BTW, it's cheaper to do DxDP in the 2 person room, & QSDP in 4 person room than to add the DDP to both rooms, & it's more entitlements.

Thanks for the info!
I'm running the numbers on the value of the QSDP. It may be convenient, but not the best value.

That's sorta what I thought. I might have overlooked what the age make-up is for the room of 4, If there are kiddos as long as they are over 10 ( I think is the magic number for kids meals on the dinning plans) you will have all adult options, even if you have 1 under 10 it's more than likely to work in your favor. You can use the snack credits to add to the meals, an yogurt, Danish, bagel or piece of fruit to add to your breakfast. A savory snack credit is a bit harder, but very do-able you just have to research and plan accordingly.

We are thinking of doing the same thing as our reservations are for 2 value rooms with 1 room having 2 adults and the other room with 2 adults and 2 children (ages 3&6). Thought about moving room 1 (the one with 2 adults) up from "free" QSDP to Deluxe DP and leaving our sons room as all QSDP. We are staying 7 nights. Can someone help me to see if this would be the way to go. Here are our dining plans and it looks like we need 40 TS credits or either pay of 12 TS OOP if we don't go the deluxe plan. I am not sure what the cost would be to change ours from QSDP to DDxP??? And also wouldn't their room have 14 adult QS rooms which all four of us could use for our other meals along with OUR other 2 TS. I was told we could convert our two TS meals into 4 QS meals? Please help.....
Crystal Palace- Dinner
Chef Mickey's-Dinner
Akerhause-Breakfast
Ohana-Dinner
Rainforest Café-Breakfast
1900 Park Fare-Dinner
ROL-Dinner
Hollywood & Vine-Fantasmic-Lunch
Whispering Canyon-Dinner
T-Rex-Dinner

Oops... The above post should read:
The second room would actually have 28 ADULT QS meals plus our 2 extra TS meals which we would hopefully be able to convert to 4 QS meals. This would be a total of 32 QS meals for 4 adults to use for 7 days. I haven't included the kids at all in my figuring. Thanks

There are 6 of you. You have 10 meals, all 1 credit depending on where you do the ROL dinner. Are you paying for the kids OOP? You can use the adult credits to pay for their meals too. With all the buffets you have on the list, I think you're going to want to use credits for at least some of them. That will get very expensive.

Sorry, I didn't see this part of your question. You cannot exchange 2 TS meals for 4 QS meals. It is an even exchange. 1 TS = 1 QS. I still don't see how this is saving you money, though, with all the kid's meals being OOP.

I didn't Include the kids will have their QSDP of 14 meals each. But I did forget to include their TS for their meals at buffets and other TS meals. I guess I will just upgrade both rooms to reg dinning and try to figure the 3 lowest $$ meals to to pay OzOP
Thanks for your help.
