DxDP Credit Question

Okay, this is about credit separation BUT NOT TO GET OVER ON DISNEY!!!!

We are going as a family of four for eight days. We will have a grand total of 96 credits to be used anywhere. In the past on the DDP we have had allotted CS and TS credits and they were split adult vs. child. This made it very easy for us because we knew who had what where. This trip, however, DH and I will be splitting up sometimes and each taking a kid. Other times the girls will eat off or our plates. How will we keep track? Is there a way the credits are traced by Disney? I'm not trying to get adult meals for children at Disney's expense. I would just like to know how carefully I need to watch what we get to avoid any surprises of "you only have children's credits left" or some such situation.

Thanks!

When I went last September, each receipt indicated, at the bottom, how many credits we had left after we had completed our meal(s). It listed how many TS, CS and snacks we had left. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!

Does your receipt show the names of the party or how many people are the credits allotted for?

This experience doesn't apply as OP has the Deluxe plan which was not an option in 2007. Deluxe plan doesn't have TS/CS it has meal credits.

DP credits are grouped, so there is no qty reserved for individuals. So if you want to use every snack credit in your group, Disney lets you do this. The family might disown you, but it within the Disney rules.

OP - Hopefully someone who has visited on the Deluxe plan can give you more specifics. I too was there Aug/Sep 2007 so my "experience" isn't relevant either.

My family went in June, and used the DxDP. With every reciept from meals, you will get a total number of credits left. The reciept doesn't seperate into adult and child, so my initial thought is that they don't keep track. But I could definately be wrong. I never did try to use them differently.

We were on the Deluxe plan last week with me, DH, DS(10) and DS(7), so 3 adults and 1 child. The credits are all pooled, so we had 84 meals. They are not distinguished by adult or child, but the requirement is that a child must order from the children's menu if available (I believe they know this when you make a reservation and tell them the ages of any children under 17). I don't know what would happen if you made the reservation for 4 adults, or just showed up with 4 adults for example. You can use anyone's KTTW card and just need to show one.
After we redeemed our first meals at the Crystal Palace, the waitress showed us on the receipt that 80 credits were left and exclaimed "That's a lot of meals!" The other thing we found was that CMs did not know how to deal with us using less than we were entitled to. If we did not take all 4 desserts or drinks (because we didn't want to waste food or carry around extra bevvies) the cashier got confused. The waiters and waitresses as table service meals tried to get us to order our full entitlements (to increase our bill), and a manager needed to override our check at Kona when DS(10) only ordered an app and dessert, no entree. One more thing, if you are trying to track how much your meals would be. Look quick at the first receipt and write it down- the ultimate receipt you will receive will show a zero balance, or just the tip amount if you charged that.

Thanks. We've used DDP before and it lists Adults and Children separately. I figured with DxDP the credits would probably be pooled in which case I would need to pay more attention.

Thanks for all of the help everyone!

Aren't the meals based on how many nights you are staying so if you are staying 8 days/7 nights wouldn't you have only 84 meals?

They should be based on the number of nights in the disney hotel, not the number of days that you have park tickets for.

No, we're there 8 nights, not seven. We have 8 park days as we arrive early on day 1 and leave early on the last day. Thanks for double checking, though! :)
