I am super excited to share our dining reports with you! We are leaving in 2 days :cool1: to head to the world on the Deluxe Dining Plan! I love reading your dining reports here so I thought I would do one of my own! I am new to DIS and this is my first trip/dining report but I am not new to Disney! We live fairly close and go often.

I LOVE FOOD PICS so expect there to be lots! :scared1: Much to his dismay, I have already warned my husband he cannot eat his meal until I take a picture of it! :lmao:

We are a family of 4. Me (Rachel), DH, DS5 and DD2.

We are also doing the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Food & Wine Festival (snack credits!).

We decided not to do any signatures this trip because this trip is based around the kids and we picked what we thought they would enjoy with some of what we would really like to do sprinkled in. We also wanted to minimize OOP costs this trip. We plan on going back in February and we are going to try some other things at that time.

I would love to have you all join me! :lovestruc I will update as soon as I get back. I am sure I won't be able to wait!

Count me in and can't wait to read your reviews.
I'm interested on reading Hollywood and Vine b/c my son wants to see Agent Oso too. I was hoping not to add Hollywood and Vine but my son loves eating there b/c of the sing/dance ever 15 mins and I'm so glad they have changed 2 new characters.

Count me in! can't wait to read your reviews. This actually sounds pretty close to what I'm thinking for if we do Dx next time we take the kids. Also I know they changed to Agent OSO at H&V but do you know if the Little Einsteins are still there.

Count me in, too! And we loved our dinner at The Wave a couple of years ago so hopefully you will enjoy it as well! :goodvibes

Have a great time. Looking forward to your reviews, you've got some great places reserved!

Yes, they are. It is the Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, & Special Agent Oso from what I understand! :thumbsup2

That is how I feel, too. I don't love H&V but I will sacrifice this meal credit for my son who loves Oso! :) I picked breakfast because I figure that's the hardest to screw up. :lmao: Thanks for checking out my reviews!

I know I answered your question before, but wanted to welcome you to my review as well! Glad to have you!

Glad to hear you loved the Wave, it seems to get mixed reviews around here! Thanks for joining in, glad you are here!

We are back! We had a great time and a lot of really good food. I took a ton of pictures and will start posting reviews probably tomorrow. We had some really great meals, can't wait to share them with you! :lovestruc

We arrived in Disney World around 10:30AM. We drove from our home and it only takes us about 2.5 hours to get there. We had to check in, get our tickets, and we had a 12:00PM ADR for Chefs de France. None of us had been there before but we wanted to try it out. To tell you the truth, my main inspiration for wanting to eat there was the kids, they LOVE Remy and I knew they would think that was a real treat to see him, and they did!

So anyway we had to really rush through unpacking our suitcases from the car and then dash on over to Epcot. We went straight to Chefs de France and got there at about 11:45. The doors didn’t open until 12:00 but as soon as they did, we were seated right away.

We had a seat that had a nice view outside and it was lovely.

They started with a French baguette and butter.

It was nice. Nothing special, but nice. We also ordered our drinks. I got a Coke and DH got a Sprite.

Next we had our appetizers. I choose the Lobster Bisque.

This was really good actually. I would get it again. It had a big spoonful of the lobster on top, which you can see, and it broke up into the bisque. It had a nice flavor and consistency. My 2 year old daughter loved it as well and helped me eat quite a bit of it. She also enjoyed DH’s appetizer, which was the Imported Cheese Plate.

DH said it wasn’t as good as he expected it to be but it was nice and he enjoyed it.

My DS5 got a child’s appetizer and selected the Cheese Puff Pastry

He didn’t care for it too much, but DH and I thought it was great. The outside was light and crispy and the inside was a cheese filling. It had the consistency of a ricotta type cheese but it was orange in color. Very tasty, we both really liked it.

For our main entrees, we each choose something different than we would normally order.
I choose the Beef Short Ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta.

The beef was amazing! It was really great. Very tender and so tasty and easy to eat. I loved it. The pasta, however, was a big let down. The sauce really had no taste and I felt like I was just eating plain pasta. So I did not eat any of the pasta but I finished all of the beef! I loved that. My DD2 ate some of the “spaghetti” as she called it and she seemed to like it.

My DH ordered the Half Chicken with Risolle Potatoes and Roasted Tomatoes.

He ate most of the chicken and said it was really good. That is a big compliment coming from him because he is picky about chicken and always thinks it is too dry, but not here. My DD2 ate some of this as well and really seemed to enjoy it. DH only ate a few of the potatoes and said they were only OK but I tried them and thought they were really good. Very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

DS5 ordered the Ground Beef Steak on Brioche Bun, Served with French Fries.

If you can’t tell, this was basically a hamburger, which was great, because DS5 loves hamburgers. The kids never get fries so DS5 was actually really excited about those as well. We try to have them eat as healthy as possible, so they rarely eat fried stuff or desserts or anything but on vacation we thought they should be able to get what they want, just like we were doing. Anyway, he really enjoyed the burger and fries and even the salad ate every bite on the plate. I did not try it but if you ask him, he will say it was very good!

As we were eating, Remy made his appearance! The kids thought it was the greatest thing ever and we thought it was very cute. The interaction was actually very funny. Here is the little chef…

Next up was dessert.
I chose the Chocolate-Mousse Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream

I actually gave the ice cream and strawberry to DD2 so I did not try that, but the cake was good. Not amazing, but good for what it was. Just a basic chocolate cake. I ate a bit and left the rest, it was not worth stuffing myself over!

DH selected the Crème Brulee.

I tried this and wasn’t a fan, but my DH loved it and ate every bite. He said it was very good. I am not much of a crème brulee person so I would go with his opinion over mine!

My DS5 choose the Chocolate Ice Cream for his dessert.

This was a big hit with him and he ate every bite. Like I said they don’t normally get dessert but he enjoyed this one very much!

COST BREAKDOWN:

I wouldn’t pay this much for this meal but it was a nice use of a deluxe dining credit.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
This meal has some very good elements but was overall mediocre. Nothing was bad though and it was a decent meal. Chefs de France is not somewhere I am dying to return but I would go here again in the future if my other top choices were not available.

Here are some other pictures I got of parts of the menu.

Great start! We had the same appetizers at Chefs lol. I had the bisque and DH had the cheese plate. Glad you got to meet Remy! We were there on a Sunday, and he doesn't come out that day :( Can't wait to read more!

Count me in! I am so excited to read your reviews. We are going Sept. 2011 our son will be almost 5 and I plan on taking our time and enjoying ourselves and going to some really good rest. So I would love to see how your kids did.
