DxDDP...Double Checking!

We are planning a trip for mid-August. Myself, DH, DD(4), and my father. The three of us will be in one room and my father will have his own. We plan to get the DxDDP on our room, but not his. We are staying 5 nights. I just want to be sure I'm understanding correctly...

-We will have 45 meal credits, with no distinction between child or adult.
-We can use credits to purchase meals for my father if he is dining with us.
-My daughter must use a credit at buffets, but could potentially share a meal at other dining options, or we could pay oop.
-If my father wants to eat without us, he would need one of our magic bands. Is there a way around this?

It's been years since I used a dining plan and things have changed. Let me know if/where I've gotten this wrong. Thank you!

Yes, yes, yes, and technically, with no good workaround.

He would need one of the bands from the room, as well as the associated pin code for that person. My last trip they also appeared to be checking signatures against the name on the band, so there may be a few more catches to this than in the past (pure speculation, no actual knowledge that they are trying to prevent band sharing).

True, but cost effectiveness wise, it is very unlikely OP would be better off paying oop for dd4 at buffets vs. using a credit.

On the dxdp I find it unlikely the kids buffet won't be in the top 45 meals price wise. But, yes, they will have to figure out the cost of all their meals and figure out the most economical use of credits

I would be surprised if a kid's buffet did make the top 45, actually, in this scenario. They run, what, $25 or less for 1TS locations? At most table service locations, you could pass on appetizer or dessert and still get over $25 without even trying.

Only way a kid's buffet realistically makes the top 45 is if they're using credits for counter service.

Kids buffets would cost more than the light meals the adults would be having.

What 1-credit restaurant has $35 buffet/AYCE prices for kids?

(Except Akerhaus in Norway, which tops out at $32, I guess. But 'Ohana, for example, is $25.)

2) Many of the most expensive prices listed are part of "packages" such as candlelight processional, Fantasmic!, etc.; regular dinners top out (except on actual holidays) at about $32, most are closer to $25-$27 for peak season.

They don't have peak pricing anymore. The prices I listed are the everyday price (with tax- which is only about $2). They ONLY package price I listed was Fantasmic (which is clearly labeled). I mentioned, but did not list, RoL package price.

I don't think so. I think the regular DDP separates adult and child table service credits. The Deluxe Disney Dining Plan (mentioned here) pools them all together.

No, if you have the Disney Dining Plan (1 Table Service, 1 Counter Service, 2 snacks per person), the TS dining credits are specifically labeled adult and child. You cannot use the 6 year old's TS credit to order from the adults' menu. It can only be used to order from the kids' menu. The OP has the Deluxe Dining Plan with three meal credits per person and those are not separated between adults and kids.

The going theory on that is that DxDDP credits can be used for TS or QS and since some QS meals do NOT have kid's meals, they decided not to distinguish between them. My theory is, Disney will at some point decide to fix this in their system or by educating CMs to not allow it. But for now, both QSDP and DxDDP allow kids to order adult meals the majority of the time.
