DW tickets and finger scanning ?

If you have to sign your name on the back of the ticket does the ticket also have your full name printed on the ticket? Could we sign the backs of the ticket with just a first name initial and our last name? Then the signature would match our ID's for DH and I....

You and DH do not likely have the same signature. When my family was at WDW in early January we experienced MYW when it was just days old. DW had troubles with her MYW ticket at the MGM turnstiles -- the scan wouldn't match. The CM requested photo ID with signature and compared the signature on the ID to her signature on the back of the MYW ticket.

Our tickets were purchased from Maple Leaf Tickets and did not have our names printed on the tickets anywhere. The signature on the back was the proof of ownership.

Ditto for our tickets from Ticketmania. Plus, we never signed them and it was never a problem.

Well that flat out stinks! I understand that they don't want people to sell the leftover days but it really makes me mad that they can't be used by the same family. Do the MYW hoppers have your name on them - first and last? I know those biometric scanners are not always perfect.

I have to agree with you here, Becka. I am actually quite a fan of the new MYW passes...I think they are great. And I also think it's great that Disney is essentially putting a stop to passes sold on ebay, at roadside stands, etc. that will rip people off.

The only thing I don't like is that my dh and I can't share passes. We go as a family once per year, and I usually go one additional time per year on a girls-only trip. In the past, with the park hopper passes, I would often use some of his leftover days on my girls-only trips, and it worked out great. We buy our passes together, using *our* money, out of *our* bank account. But yet, *we* cannot use the passes.

Disney made the rules, and we will follow them...but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

The finger scanning only applies to the new Magic Your Way tickets which Disney started selling in January 2005. No finger scans are needed for older Park Hopper of Park Hopper Plus tickets.

Since children that are 10 and older must have an adult ticket, what do you do if the scanner does not scan them properly? My 13yr dd does not have a picture ID. Anyone know what they do in this situation?
