Just wondering if anyone has used the site "The Ultimate DW Savings Guide" for planning their trip? Was it worth the $25 it costs? The site is run by a former CM, Beth Haworth.

Thanks in advance.

I have it and it puts a lot of info in one location, but it is nothing you couldn't find on these posts if you are willing to look for it.

In my case, DW Secrets directed me to this and other sites so it is hard to say it had no value -- it helped me know where and how to rent points so we can stay at OKW. Now that I have this site, I probably wouldn't do it again.

I think it's sad when Former CMs give away the Magic to make some money . If they really want to help they wouldn't charge you.

Jk...Thanks for the information. I paid the $20 anyway, lots of information though.

Prince...We live in a capitalistic society (the best type). I never take exception to someone making some cash (as long as it is not immoral or illegal). It is always your choice to buy or not to buy.

i haven't read it but i imagine it's not much more than rent dvc points. you can get tickets dirt cheap by going to high pressure timeshare presentations too (not that i'd recommend it).

i always felt the fact that she's a former CM is just a marketing tool to those who would have the impression that she would have some sort of magical insight.

that said, i've heard it's decent for someone who isn't really familiar with everything, but also, as mentioned, nothing you couldn't learn with a little time.

I would have to agree i ordered the book a few months back and myself not having known about the disboards and such I hadnt had alot of knowledge and so I had to start somewhere. The book was good in the way that it puts all the information all in one document for you to read but after coming on the disboards i have found the same or more information but it is conveint having the document for when i will be planning to look back to.

Anyways if you spend time on the boards you can find all the information you need from some great veteran disers.

There was another thread about this the other day. Consensus (from those of us who were dumb enough to give her money) is SAVE YOUR MONEY! You can get those big secrets right here for free...

To save money, book during Value season. There's one of her big secrets (DUH)

:rotfl2: Oh well, I guess I'm glad I figured that little tidbit out on my own before booking Poly the first time in 2001. I didn't even know about the DIS back then! How did I survive? :confused3

Seriously, I agree with most others on here: why shell out the money when you can learn whatever you need to by looking it up or asking on here or countless other Disney boards?

I'm not being brand-specific either. I just don't see the need to spend anything on any kind of publication when it's all here for free, and you have thousands of people on here to inform you, with all kinds of unique tricks, opinions, etc. You just have to ask. No Disney book will offer that.

I've never bought a book not even a passporter always got my info right here or possibly another site or 2 years ago. It's all right here if you look for it.

We bought PassPorter - but not because it held any big Disney secrets - we liked it for the pockets to hold mementos and the diary to write down things that happened on your trip that might otherwise slip your mind. It was a convenient way to keep all your trip info together, too. We'd definitely buy it again.

:tinker:

She's only trying to make a living. Magic won't pay the mortgage, put food on the table, or clothe the kids. She has knowledge people are willing to pay for. It's how the economy goes 'round and 'round. I'm sure we can all relate in some way or another.

That said, if you're already here, you probably don't NEED to buy the book, as much of the same info and more can be found here. Also, being able to interact with others and ask questions is priceless. My wife, however, would much rather curl up with a book for the info, instead of sitting in front of a computer monitor.

Just for fellow Disers, I'll share the biggest thing I got from ordering her e-book.
