My incredible wife is on the phone right now ordering last-minute Mother's Day flowers for my mom. What was I thinking staying single for all those years?

I also ordered flowers today for dh's mother and stepmother. ( I like stepmother!) The things we do....;)

Yep, I do the same thing. I don't think DH has bought his parents a card or gift since we got married. I do it all, and if I don't then "I" messed up somewhere.:confused3 I don't know why men are so afraid to commit, they really have it easy.:upsidedow

That's very sweet of her!! And next year, when YOU ARE ON THE PHONE ORDERING FLOWERS FOR YOUR MOTHER, she will be able to post here and tell us about it!!!!

The whole marriage idea hasn't been properly marketed to men. It turns out to be the best decision I ever made, but I almost passed out before our wedding when it was time to put on my tux.

This is what we do and you're just now realizing it.

I would bet that most wifes do this as well. Not to downplay the incredibleness of your wife, but we all kinda do it.

You apparently believe in miracles!

Too often we women cover for the men in our lives and their mommas think they are wonderful and can do no wrong while we were behind the scenes buying cards, gifts, reminding them it is your mom's special day, have you talked to your mom lately? etc. etc.
It gets old but I still do it. I did buy my MIL a card that says "Happy Mother's Day to my MIL" and let DH sign it too. Boy, I'm getting tough, huh? LOL

My MIL's birthday was Wednesday. I called my DH on Wednesday morning and reminded him to call his mother. He got brownie points because he called before his brother.

Now what would have happened if I had not reminded him????

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Here's a tip - women who order flowers for their mothers-in-law on Mother's Day are the kind of women who like to get flowers themselves - on Mother's Day, on their birthdays, on your anniversary...I'm just sayin'.:rolleyes1

I assume this means you'll be taking care of her father's gift this father's day...

My mom slyly mentioned some time ago that she noticed a change for the better after DW came into the picture. So I don't think I'm fooling anybody!

I thought all wives had to take care of this stuff. I told him it was NOT in the vows, but DH said it was a law and I'd go to jail if I didn't. :confused3

Both moms get the same gift, whatever it is, every year. :teeth:

See, that is just it. He can pull the wool over your eyes cause you NEVER read the book. :rotfl: I think it says submit but not that you'll actually go to jail!! :lmao:

I'm sure my MIL is wise to DH also, OP. She'll just never admit it. His sister always says the gifts improved when I came along!

I too ordered flowers for DH's mom & wrote a lovely note on the card. I also picked out a nice greeting card that we mailed. But I insisted that DH make time to sign his own name since I've signed it on the last 3 or so cards we've sent her.

On my 30th birthday my DH sent my mother flowers at her office with a card that said, Thank you for giving birth to your daughter and my wife 30 years ago today.

What a kiss a**, but you know it was super sweet and it was the talk of the office.
