Will the dining staff help her out? Will there be any lactose free milk and cheese for her to have or should we bring our own. She gets very sick and I don't want it to ruin her vacation.

Thanks

It is probably best to notify DCL in advance.

However, my niece has had problems in the past and my sister had been giving her soy milk.

The second day on the ship my niece became ill and my sister realized that she had been drinking regular milk. We asked if they had soy milk and they did not. However they did have lactose free milk. That did the trick for my niece. We never inquired about lactose free cheese.

My mother in lactose intolerent and she had no problem with the wait staff helping her. They would even mark the items she could have at every meal ahead of time. She also had soy milk available to her. I do not know if it was just luck for her, but you might want to contact someone just in case.

my daughter suffers from the same problem. disney was awesome about it. they had rice milk (we requested) and ice cream for her. call the cruise line and get a medical form sent to you. you fill out the form along with a doc's signature then send it back. the ship will have on board any special food needs. everyone from your cabin stewart to wait staff will know about it.

We cruised with someone who had Celiac's Disease (allergy to wheat/gluten.) Definately get DCL's form and have it filled out by your MD and returned.
But!.... upon boarding check your table seating and remind them to put it on your dining ressie. Then make sure your waitstaff is aware. Consider the number of passengers they take care of. Reminding will pay off - after a couple of days they'll be taking care of you without reminding.

Disney will get you lactose free milk......when dd5 was younger she had lactose problems when we cruised....they had it on board for us.....we just recently sailed carinival this past spring and our 1 yr old also has lactose problems....we had to bring a weeks worth of lactose free milk with us on board because they would not get it for us....
