DVDs freezing and skipping solutions.

I bought 2 dvd on ebay and they both are freezing and skipping. Does anyone have some ideas how to repair these so they play?

I tried the toothpaste thing and it did not work.

Are they scratched or dirty?

Wash with soap and water and rub extremely gently from center to outside using your finger. (don't rub 'round and 'round)

For scratches you need one of those scratch removal gadgets that contains a buffing pad. Sometimes scratches are not fixable.

I bought one of those Skip Dr devices (the manual one) and was able to save the Cars DVD from not playing at all to playing with no problems. I've used it on a bunch of DVD's at this point and have never had one that couldn't be fixed.

We have a disc doctor. It's fixed most of ours without a problem. It usually depends on the kind of scratch and how deep it is. If it's deep, try filling the scratch with car wax. If it's lighter, the toothpaste should have worked.

Deep scratches that go from in to out, they are the hardest and cause the most problems. We've lost a few games to those, usually nothing can be done.
