Over here in the states, we have small DVD players that you hook up to your TV. :happytv: They are about 12 inches by 12 inches and cost $30 USD.

Do they sell anything similar in London and where would I look. I have been google-ing to find info, but all I can find are the personal DVD players with the built in screens, but I am looking for one without the screen built in. I am going to be in London for 8 days in May and have heard that DVDs that I buy there don't neccesarily work here in the states. Just planning in case I find some that I want to buy, and making sure I can watch them when I get back home.

Thanks for the help!!!

The problem you will have with a UK dvd player is that its video output is generaly PAL, and whereas our TV's are pretty much 100% now compatible with NTSC, the reverse is not usualy the case, meaning your US TV might not be able to display the UK machine's PAL signal. If you have a High Def TV with component video, you shouldnt have a problem with a progressive scan model.

Connection wise, you should be OK as most players here have SVideo and at a push, Composite Video.

Do not forget also you will need a 1:2 transformer to get your 110V up to 220V.

TOTALLY forgot about the voltage...thanks! We do have 2 new HD TV's in the house, so I guess I will have to use those, rather than my $60 19inch special! HAHAHA

THANKS!
