I finally decided to watch the one they have on The Sweetest Thing DVD. I was cracking up the whole time. I am glad I watched the movie before hand because they only turned the sound on dfor a total of 5 minutes of it... so funny... I'll have to watch more of them :)

YES! I have learned SO much about movie making and what actually goes on to make a film from listening to the director's commentary!

You begin to understand how much actors really have to think about beyond just saying their lines, and how much thought goes into every little shot that you see.

You also get some "inside scoop" about the actors and what went on during filming!

VERY interesting!!!!

I do every once in awhile. I did watch it for The Sweetest Thing. Too funny! :teeth:

We do Meagan!!

One of the perks of having a DVD for us is being able to view the outtakes and Director's Comments. We first did this with "A Beautiful Mind", and now we are hooked! Ron Howard is an excellent director, and it helped to "flesh out" the movie to see the scenes that were cut.

We always watch the regular feature first, though.

Absolutely! This is one of the main reasons why I haven't rented/bought a VHS in years. I especially enjoy it if it's a about a film that's heavy in CGI, animation or 3D.

One that was extremely disappointing was Austin Powers though. I was expecting it to be pretty funny, but it wasn't funny Mike Myers, it was sedated boring Mike Myers with comments like "There's Bill Johnson & he does a great job here..." & then 2 minutes of silence.

Yes, but usually only once. It is entertaining and educational.

Once in a while I do. Sometimes they are really boring and other times they are a riot!

Most of them are pretty good. Some of them kiss butt! The 1998 "Psycho" commentary was mostly butt kissing. :)

Barry, the fact that you not only watched that movie, but then watched it again with the commentary... *sigh* You need some serious help, my friend! ;)

Once in a while -- usually only for movies I've seen a lot of times previously, and are looking to learn something new.

We rented Scooby Doo last weekend and watched it with the Cast Commentary.... that was very funny!

Love watching Director's commentary. You really get insight into a lot of little things. One of my favorites is the 1776 commentary. Fascinating stuff.
