Rather depends if you have played region 2 DVDs a few times already on your PC. or if you have hacking software to make the PC multi region. Or if you have 2 DVD players and use one for each type of film. Lots of ifs and buts....
Strangely enough we bought our DVD player from a Sony Centre and there were quite willing to sell you one ready chipped to play multi region for an extra tenner.
Yeah, its a long time since I hacked a $ony, but from memory, you use a custom remote (or a PDA using a macro in OmniRemote) that fires a set of IR instructions to it to make it multi region. A tenner is a fair price, Id have charged about the same.
www.rpc1.org for how to make your pc drive multi-region.
You shouldnt really need to do it though, DVD Decryptor can remove the region coding on any disk using brute-force method if it was a different region to what the drive was set to.
