DVC's Solution to Inventory-Adding Inventory to SSR? (Updated to include OKW)

I wonder if they added back rooms typically pulled for cash during slow DVC times,

More importantly, adding them to a June gives me even more hope for my end of June trip!
Agree I think things are looking promising for June

The info I have for SSR, for example for studios availability on NYE shows like it was more then just cancellations

I suspect most will be cash rooms. SSR is big in cash sales in some markets like the UK- Disney will know no one will be coming from Europe in these summer periods I would guess for rooms already booked, and they may have given up others they were intending to sell.
If DVC / Disney have given up out of their own pocket cash rooms, so member can have them, I would like to hear about it as that would be something to be applauded and they could get positive PR from that.
I wish someone had an on the ground update on the refurb- construction was halted due to financial issues, which do not play out in the refurb so I am hoping they crack on with that. With it closed they could actually get it done quicker.

Refurbs are paid for with annual dues, which are accumulated in an account over several years to maintain the resort. They budget for soft goods such as mattresses every 7 years and a full replacement of kitchen appliances, cabinets, countertops, bathroom fixtures, etc. every 14 years. Disney's financial strain due to closures should not impact DVC refurbs as Disney cannot access DVC resort-specific maintenance funds for general corporate purposes. Yes, refurbs could be slowed due to COVID-related shutdown, but not due to Disney's financial position.

The refurb workers most likely do NOT work for Disney. Those companies also have issues to work through before continuing their work, as do the suppliers of the hard and soft goods required to do the job. The Disney employees who work with them & manage the project may be on furlough. When those issues get worked through, I'm sure the refurb will begin again.

As pp said, $$ to pay for the work is most likely not the problem. Nothing about this situation is simple.

Much more likely IMO that Disney just ordered everything shut down - conserve cash - and not considering that it really ought to be different for DVC. Personally I'm doubtful the contractors stated they were shutting down and because of the set up of the project for DVC any DVC employee working with the contractor should still be working. I've watched an entire house being built 1/2 a block away and have friends that their house has been almost completely finished during the time. It's not Orlando but it just doesn't seem like it was shut down for Orlando either.

Disney shut down everything likely for liability purposes. If they had workers continuing on projects and some caught COVID, no doubt they would face legal action that could be more costly than the projects themselves.
