Four Seasons was going to offer "fractional" timeshares near the resort they are building at WDW. Haven't heard anything about the timeshare component in several years and assumed it was scrapped. May have been a casualty of the recession.

Fractionals typically have only 3-4 owners per unit and they retail for hundreds-of-thousands of dollars.

All the information presented in the article is very interesting. However; we would like to see Disney STOP building at WDW and put more stand alone resorts in other places around the USA for us to visit. The planned DVC resort on the National Harbor would have been great.
We have the two beach resorts. How about a ski resort in Colorado or Lake Tahoe or some place like that? :confused3

Jim Hill and Len Testa have a new podcast on the Unofficial Guide's Disney Dish where they talk about some of the history of DVC, including what happened to plans for DVC resorts in Times Square, Vail, National Harbor, etc. The podcast (Number 63) also talks about some of the rumors on future DVC projects, including Wilderness Lodge, River Country, and Caribbean Beach.

DVCNews has a link to the podcasts here. The podcast is about an hour long and is quite interesting.
