This is not a "child bashing" post. We love taking our neices and nephews with us. But are there any other DVC members who bought without having children.
I can't imagine that there aren't a lot of people like Us who enjoy WDW and DVC by ourselves or with our friends.
For those of you who "DVC-it" without children, what do you like to do when you are there?

DH & I don't have children either. We are getting ready to buy into DVC. (We almost bought a resale last year but ran into ROR issues). Great topic !

We take friends and family with us a lot...

But this past Memorial Day weekend - it was just the two of us.

After we arrived Friday night, we drove over to the Poly for dinner then went out to the beach to watch the fireworks. Saturday morning we went and FINALLY tried the Tonga Toast at the Kona. Saturday night we did the luau. Sunday afternoon we went and saw a movie. Sunday night we did California Grill. Monday we did Rose & Crown for lunch, and walked around and enjoyed the Flower & Garden festival before we headed home.

I don't know why - but it was a GREAT trip. We just really enjoyed ourselves...

We've been members since 1997 and are still enjoying our membership a lot! Our next trip is Labor Day weekend - and we're bringing both sets of parents and staying in a Beach Cottage.

We bought DVC child-less. Definitely not child bashing here. I love children, just don't think I'm parent material. I do dream of taking my niece and nephews some day when they're a little older. So, yes, we are child-les DVC'ers. Nice to hear we're not alone.

As for what do we do at DVC, don't know. Just bought in April. At Disney, we tend to do all teh kid stuff. Epcot, MK, AK, some MGM. We pretty much go commando at the parks to savor every one of our Disney moments. We figure that, since we don't have kids and it's just us, we can kill ourselves to do all that we wish.

We bought after our two daughters were off in college. They did enjoy a week at Vero Beach with us. But our purchase of DVC was primarily for ourselves.

We enjoy the resorts, parks, restaurants, and tours. The theming, animals, landscaping, history, and finer points of Disney design and attention to detail are of particular interest.

We have enjoyed miniature golf, pools and water parks. What we do and enjoy is evolving because of my wife's health. That means we do less, move at a slower pace and avoid some of the rides. But most importantly we enjoy being together in a place that makes anything we want and can do fun and relaxing.

We have older teens so our last trip seemed close to "child-less" since the teens never want parents around anyway. We're looking forward to trips with just the two of us when the kids head off to college. We enjoy Disney and without children it is nice because you can choose to do whatever you want anytime you want. It will also be nice to only use points for a 1 BR rather than a 2 BR. Yeah!! More trips!! If we miss children too much, we will start taking our great nieces and nephews with us.

I may not be the best person to reply here because I did buy in with children, but I was also a single parent. Now that I'm remarried, I can tell you I'm very glad we bought DVC.

If we didn't have the points we would only go to WDW with the kids. Now, though, I'm hoping to convince my husband to take an extra trip just the two of us next spring. We are going this December and will be using our free season passes we got as part of our wedding at Disney last year, so it's perfect.

What will we do? Here's a few things:

1. Have a romantic dinner somewhere just the two of us.
2. Maybe take an Illuminations cruise.
3. Spend some time at Animal Kingdom watching the animals...the kids are look and move at zoos.
4. Jellyrolls, Jellyrolls, Jellyrolls. I LOVE this place. We went here the evening of our wedding and I can't wait to go back!!!!
5. Take in some of the shows the kids won't sit for.
6. Explore Epcot a little closer than the kids will let us.

HTH,
Shelly

No Kids (only our four footed furry ones).

DW and I have always loved WDW. I hope we always do.

::yes::

No Kids here either.

Both my DW and I are mid 20's married just over 13months. We just bought and plan on taking MIL, My Sister and SIL on some trips.

But a lot can change over the 50's years and I am sure we will have some children to bless with the club.

We don't have children yet. We have made 4 trips just the two of us and have had great vacations. This last time we spent 5 nights at BCV. This was our itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrive, relax at Storm Along Bay (SAB), dinner at Boma, miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens.

Day 2 - Epcot in the morning. Lunch at Coral Reef. Afternoon at SAB. MGM studios / Fantastmic at night.

Day 3 - Blizzard Beach morning and early afternoon. Relax at the pool late afternoon. Dinner at Kona Cafe. Relaxed at Downtown Disney / shopped in the evening.

Day 4 - Islands of Adventure / Universal Studios during the day. Dinner at Bongos, Downtown Disney. Evening at Pleasure Island.

Day 5 - Lunch at downtown Disney (Wolfgang Pucks) and afternoon at Disney QUest (my husband's favorite). Late afternoon - Relaxed and went pool hopping at Coronado Springs. Evening - Pleasure Island.

This last trip, I must admit that I got sad watching families with kids have such a good time together, because I have been unsuccessfully trying to conceive for a year and it is starting to become an emotional rollercoaster..... but DVC can definitely be great without kids. So much to do for everyone. I do look forward to taking kids there someday, and also neices and cousins as well. Someday I would like to plan a Grand Gathering.

We did..we were depressed because we thought I was having my second miscarriage and decided we didn't need to save money anymore since it didn't look like I'd need to leave work anytime soon-so we splurged and bought the DVC points we thought we couldn't afford...surprise-against all the signs- the pregnancy was fine, and 3 months after we bought we went for our first trip 'home" with me 4 months pregnant.
So yes, we bought without it being planned as something for our family, but that quickly changed. :-D

I bought as a single person, no kids. It was after my third trip alone to WDW. I had a blast when I went myself. Going out to eat because everyone seemed to pity me and get me a table pretty quick. If I was patient, there wasn't any place I couldn't go. It was also nice finding a place to watch all the shows. My favorite things........Fantasmic and DTD. I love to shop! Have a great time, with or without company!

Of course, now I have a husband and daughter and we are going home January for our first family trip. I can't wait!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

no kids here either. We just absolutely love everything about disney.

Through out my experiences with WDW, it seems like it appeals to people in all sorts of situations

We bought into DVC without having kids....never gave it a second thought. We've always had great vacations there, I think partly because there's just so much to do. This last visit, we went for Member Homecoming, took the Segway tour (highly recommend it! It was a blast!) and shopped at Downtown Disney.

No children here as of yet. We currently enjoy the freedom of going or doing what ever we want when we want.

Our kids are grown and out of the house, so we bought without kids. We still love going to WDW every year. Why? DH loves the golf there-he's so happy with the quality of golf courses and service he's gotten there. His attitude, to quote another DISer is "You mean there are theme parks at this golf resort?" I spend all day in the theme parks getting "in touch with my inner child"-that's a nice way of saying I love to ride all the children's rides, I'm too chicken for stuff like RnR or TOT. In the evenings, we love to sit on the balcony together, or have an Illuminations Cruise, or wander WS, or go to Gurgling Suitcase, or share a Kitchen Sink. I guess it's our idea of a romantic vacation. And I dare anyone who's stayed as a couple in a 1 BR to tell me it isn't romantic! I'm sure in future years, our "romantic" vacations will be interspersed with vacations with grandchildren, but I'm so glad we bought, just for us.

I have children now, but didnt when we bought. One of my favorite things to do is the comedy wharehouse. We are bringing along back up on our next trip and hopefully we will get to go

No kids here - but when we are at WDW we act like kids!! :p
We have two big dogs and those are our children for now.

We're childless too, but we've always loved WDW, have visited about 65 times (many of those day trips when we lived in Tampa). We always have a great time, just the two of us - WDW is our special place. We ride the rides, eat, play mini golf, watch parades and people, you name it. We don't need kids to enjoy Mickey's house!

Our only regret? That we didn't buy into DVC sooner! We just bought at BCV last year!

Lin

Deb and I have started going by ourselves... but our kids like joining us too. I think that it will be a mix of "just us" and "all of us" for a while.

Last summer... I got to answer the phone at CW... and they did a skit about our family... including the fact that we flew our own plane from Oregon to Florida for the trip... and how Debbie and I met 30 years ago at a pajama party.
