I, for one, am way not happy with the new ticket options. We try to go once a year for a 6 day stay since we bought into DVC in 2000. Once we've been able to do one 6 day stay, and another 3 night stay within a year.
Depending on how a DVC family vacations, the new ticket options can be considered an advantage or not. The way I see it - it is just a way for Disney to make more money. I can't believe I have to pay $35 per person per ticket for more than one park per day on my passes and $15 per person per ticket on top of that to make it unexpirable for a 4 day pass & another $35 for a five day pass!!!! That's insane. I'm really ticked about this - that's a $50 - $70.00 increase per ticket! We usually just buy 4 or 5 day park hoppers and use 2 or three days in the parks per trip, thereby enabling us to get almost two vacations out of each ticket purchase. With these new ridiculous prices the AP is a better buy.....but not really, because we more often than not won't get there more than once in a year, and our stays are not long enough to use them. I think it's terrible that Disney is basically forcing vacationers like us to spend more money for the same time spent in the parks, just because they want to encourage longer stays per vacation. I feel like I'm being penalized because I can't get there more often. Why not offer longer stay vacationers different perks and leave the tickets for shorter stays alone!? We'll be using the parks alot less then in the past, that's for sure. Hopefully I'm missing something here, if the way I understand it is the way it is - I'm going over to "that other park" more than I used to for sure!
