some questions,

how many DVC members who go ONCE a year use/get an annual pass?

I am thinking about getting an AP next year when we go and then the year after go a week earlier so that the AP is still good, thus getting two years use out of it.

Do any onther DVC members do this?

Hey Mike, I'm also a new DVC member living in CA. I brought AP on Dec 27th (for our NY's trip), and is planning on returning "home" for Thanksgiving. Basically, the "break-even" on AP is 8 days at WDW (not factoring in other discounts on WDW resorts/car rental/meals/etc.). I have read on the board that some people will buy AP every other year (but still come to WDW every year).

If you are considering buying AP, you should also considering joining Disney Club. There is currently a special referral discount (for friends and family of the DC member) of $10 off the $39.99 annual membership. The link is posted on various boards (with the referral "code"), but you must sign up by 2/15 (or email me). You will be able to save $15.90 (includes 6% FL sales tax) on each AP purchased. Furthermore, if you are planning to sail on DCL ("springtime magic" sailings only) there's a coupon for $50.00 onboard credit.

Bottom line: I wished I have purchased AP while I attended a conference in mid Nov 01. I had another chance during Thanksgiving weekend when I returned with my family, but didn't. So, finally when we came out again for New Year, I purchased it.

Furthermore, if I had known this board existed I would of learned quite a bit more. Thanks to DVC, now I'm hooked.

hey mike...
if you are going to plan to spend 8 or more days in any of the parks during the calendar year then an ap is a great choice for you...
we have purchased ap's and are expecting to get about 3 weeks of use out of them....
