If you go to Disney.com and then destinations you can access DVC info there. It has alot of great information. I also sent you a PM with my guides info if you'd like to give him a call to speak with.

Basically you purchse points. If buying through Disney the minimum is 150 points. Each night at a DVC resort is assigned a point value based on the night, resort, time frame and room size. you redeem your points accordingly. Every year you are given a new allotment of points.

So you may pay $14,000 one time for your 150 points but every year for the next 48 years you get 150 points to use (at SSR). You can bank and borrow the points as well. Disney offers financing as too.

One other thing. I figured I'd use the real figures that the points cost. If you buy at SSR, which is the one they are actively selling it is $101. per point. Minimum buy in is 150 points for a total of $15,150. If you are referred by an existing member you can get a $15. per point discount so it would be $86. per point. So that would be $12,900. to buy 150 points at Saratoga Springs. A savings of $2,250.
They do sometimes sell points at the sold out resorts but they run in the $90 per point range with no discounts and they expire in 36 years (or pertty close to that). SSR is an additional 12 years so you would get 48 years out of that resort.
There are also resales, but that I'm not familiar with as I took advantage last year of the same referral program and opted for the longer term.

I asked this question on another thread and I'll try here too. We did the whole DVC thing yesterday and placed our deposit. I had no idea about the referral deal for $86/point as we are paying $101. But Disney is also offering 2 incentives at this time $2000 to down payment and 200 bonus points effective immediately as points at SSR won't be released until Aug. So, do you think that I can use the referral discount and the incentives ??

You can only use one or the other. No stacking discounts unfortunately. I pm'd you some referral info.
