No Brainer! YES!

DVC is only a good deal if you go to Disney at least every two years! You really get your money's worth if it's more! :lmao: :lmao:

Haven't even had my first trip home but from what I've seen and planned so far - YUP!

We bought in 2004 and have been focusing on getting it completly paid off so skipped a 2005 trip. This October we will be there for 2 weeks then are going again Dec 2007 for a week at Dis and a cruise (hopefully!)

Dh has already mentioned ADD ON with the dollar being so good! We're looking into that while we are there in October!

The only thing I would do differently is buy it now when the exchange rate is around $1.10, rather than the $1.62 is was when we bought our first contract a few years ago.

We bought DVC when we were there in December. We can't wait to make our first trip and just knowing that we have "a home" in Disney makes the anticipation all the more exciting. :yay:

Purchased last year and taking first home trip this October, looking at add on already!!! :woohoo:

Same here!

You Bet!!!

We are probably looking at an add-on in the future!!

We can't wait for our next Disney vacation.

Absolutely! We just purchased in January and are already looking at add-ons. If you love going there or golfing, you can't beat the investment. Pre-paid vacation!

pooh: Well where do I begin.

When thinking it over the long term, it may be hard to digest or fathom your 50 year commitment; (length of time Vs cost & enjoyment) Sometimes letting your skingy side over power your need for a real vacation. If that is the case then you will probably never buy a DVC or anything like one (timeshare). KEEP THIS IN MIND THOUGH ! Your need for down time is a real one for you and your family and if you are from Ontario or eastern Canada for that matter then come FEB or MAR your itch for some place nice and warm (key word NICE) is a continual and relentless one. Eventually you find yourself and the family taking last minute ill planned trips on the cheap, that in the end was just a means to an end that year. I came to that realality some time ago and found myself going back to DW for its quality and entertainment value. We had tried the carribean thing (noting the evening entertainers were also the staff working at pool side or in the kitchen that day and usually the food was an aquired taste). I don't want to sound like I didn't enjoy the carribean but when you compare the two WDW has it beat. ( its nice its safe its enjoyable and you don't have to fly if you don't want to). We were down at DVC OKW this past March and for being the oldest DVC it sure didn't look like it. We also stayed one night at POP Centrury before booking into our DVC; we had been there before and since we were getting into Orlando late in the day wanted to stay some place Disney. MAN !don't get me wrong I still liked the place, but the people there were in the thousands. Here I was standing in line for what seemed forever just to get breakfast and everyone was in a big rush (Hey we've all been there) but when I saw all this going on it hit me like a ton of bricks why I LOVE MY DVC SO MUCH ! DVC gives you some breathing space to really relax if you want to and take in all there is that makes it enjoyable DW included. You don't feel rushed so your not rushed. The quality is second to none and it's YOUR'S. What do you get for owning one ? Well, I like the bragging rights that come along with it, My DD just can't wait until I will it off to her and she's only twelve; I can rent it out to freinds/family or give it away that year to sombody less fortune than us (when that will be I don't know) but I'm sure in the nest 50 years that will happen once or twice at least. Anyway I'm glad we bought into DVC and will recomend it to anyone who is interested in hearing me blab on this topic. There are alot more reasons for getting on the band wagon but not enough time to list them. Have fun.
PS. NIKE has a saying. JUST DO IT ! That's my recommendation. pooh:

How many points does everyone have? And did you buy from a reseller or from Disney Directly?

330 pts at OKW (two contracts, 150pts and 180 pts) which we purchased resale through Jaki Apetz at A Timeshare Broker. She is often mentioned over on the DVC boards as a number of people here have purchased through her.

We bought direct from Disney and saved about 500 dollars of admin and reality costs. We bought 160 points to allow easy transittion to international stays. We also bought at SSR. Very nice..

Hope this helps.

Saratoga Springs, I have 150 points there and currently looking for another 150 points which I will probably purchase off of Disney. :goodvibes

Well as some of you remember, or not, it started with our trip "to the Cottage" ;) ;)

The year that Disney offered Buy 4 nights get 3 free! It was then I decided to take the tour to see what it was all about! That was the tour that DD ran around the Sales Office, I love This! I love That! We can go Here! OMG look at how big and spacious! Well you get the picture, the DVC rep didn't have to say a word! She said it all! :lmao: :lmao:

So I ended up buying 200 pts at SSR (Saragtoga Springs Resort!)

Our first trip was in a studio and we both loved it! Being able to make a decent cup of coffee in the morning without having to get dressed and search for one was Heaven on Earth!

The next trip was at Christmas staying in a one Bedroom at BCV(Beach Club Villas) This is where I fell in love! The Resort was Beautiful! This is where I ended up buying a contract here! Was afraid that if I did not get into the 11 month advantage, it would be difficult. Then of course ended up getting another there, had to make sure I had enough for Christmas stays! I used the Board Sponsor, The Timeshare Store, who I highly recommend!

So right now, 555 points in total! I have told myself that when our $$$ breaks even or better...................Time for another Add On!

I don't mind staying in a regular hotel room for shorter trips but for those longer ones, it's great to have the extra room!

We bought 160 pts to start because this allows you to trade into Interval during high season for one week. (just in case)

We bought re-sale and saved a ton because we bought a contract that was less than Disney was offering even after closing costs and also it came with tons of banked points. These are the good ones to look for.

I bought 200 points at the VWL directly from Disney. I liked that I was getting the 2005 points, saving closing costs, and wouldn't have to wait for ROFR or to get into their system (I'm not good at waiting. Its a flaw. I'm dealing with it.)

I haven't been "home" yet, but I'm just giddy planning trips for this year, and next year, and the year after that... and and and...

My first trip home will be to Hilton Head Island for a little bit of beachy fun (and golf for the DBF) and then to my favourite Wilderness Lodge in December. I'm inviting friends on each of the trips, and really hope that they accept the invitiation since that's a big part of why I bought in in the first place. I want to share the fun with the people I love!

I can forsee an add-on eventually, but not till I'm done paying for this contract first. Probably. I may try resale when I'm ready to add on, though.

Started with 150pts at SSR and did a 120pt add-on in Jan at SSR. So far no regrets and still giddy with excitment :woohoo: Third trip home coming up in December.

The resorts are top of the line and there are many days we dont go to a park and just enjoy the resort. Its a great place to relax and a great place to have fun. I agree with many things pkitty said.

If you think it will fit into your lifestyle than it is a great thing.
