I know lots of people have been speculating that they might start BCV sales sooner than expected. One reason people give is that the sales staff won't have anything to do once VWL sells out (of course they still have HHI and Vero but no on-site to sell). It's been a year since they announced BCV and so far no other announcement has come down the pipeline. Once BCV sell-out (which probably won't take long), these same salespeople will be facing the problem again. Could it be possible that this is the end? Does anyone expect BCV to be the last DVC resort?

p.s. Anybody else notice that threads change color after you've read them? Just like they used to....great to have that feature back.

A somewhat reliable source told me that the next DVC was expected to be built in California and another at the Osprey Ridge Golf Course after that. Of course everything is a rumour until announced by Disney...

Since I live in California, I would love to have a DVC resort on the west coast. I was almost
giving up hope of ever getting a DVC resort out here, but alas my hope has been renewed!
I look forward to having the opportunity of packing my bags for a weekend jaunt here and
there instead of using my points in such large blocks and having to fork out so much money
on airfare every time we vacation. :p

Where is the Osprey Ridge Golf Course??

I have to admit I would really like to see a DVC resort in California. We've talked about going to DisneyLand/Calif. Adventure but our points go so much further in WDW that it's just not worth it (to us).

If you leave OKW, take a left on Community Drive, and take a right at the redlight onto Bonnet Creek Pkwy. Drive past Port Orleans and (fka) Dixie Landings. Eventually, the road ends at a red light. Turn left at this light, and the entrance to Osprey Ridge and Eagle Pines will come up shortly on your right. It's very pretty back there.

It's good to hear that there are still rumors floating out there. I'm just wondering when they'll announce something. Let's say BCV starts to sell a bit earlier....maybe June 2002. It could sell out in a year or less meaning June 2003. It usually takes at least two years from announcement to opening of a DVC resort. If they announced today that would be May 2003, once again putting the DVC sales people on a tight schedule. I sure hope they tell us something soon.

(Jenny....your name and banana are too funny!) :smooth:

Last week when we were over at the boardwalk we stopped and spoke to the DVC rep who was at the booth near the transportation boats. He was like a clam. Wouldn't even confirm beach club will be DVC..his comment was they were expanding the beach club resort, but no official word yet on what the new resort area would become. We stopped in downtown disney too to talk with a DVC rep..he too didn't have anything to say about the future of DVC. We had dinner one night at the WL, but it was after 6 PM and there wasn't anyone at the DVC desk. We saw the new villas from the outside, but didn't get to take a tour etc. We never had time to go back again..so we never got to ask them how close to selling out they really are over there.

We too would like to see something in CA. That would be a great vacation destination!

Guess we'll just have to keep on guessing until the finally announce something!

The rumor I heard from a DVC salesperson was Bonnet Creek would be the next DVC. They had heard it will be a big resort like OKW with over 500 units.

Maybe it will be the beginning of DVC II.

This is the first I have heard of a CA DVC since they sold the other property to Marriot. It would go nicely with the new park in CA.

I just love all these great rumors and can only hope that some of them will happen. Just one problem, though. I promised myself (not to mention dh) that after one more add-on at BCV I would be done! ;)

In order for the threads to change color, you need to use the "go" button at the bottom of the screen to return to the main board screen. If you use the "back" button on your browser, the threads don't change. Hope this helps.

I haven't been out on the course to see the layout, but it appears that a roadway is staked for the Osprey Ridge DVC. The road passes between the 3rd and 4th holes of Eagle Pines. A freind of mine works at the course and is a DVC member, he knows someone that has been hired to work on the project. No official announcement from Disney yet.

I'd love to see a DVC at Disneyland. I'd like to go now, but the points are too expensive.

I agree, I'd love to have the option of a DVC resort in CA. I live in Arizona and if there was a resort there, I might pop over for visits. I just don't see the value in spending points over there at the current rates.

I have heard similar rumors like the Osprey and California dreams. The DVC sales people are getting very mum about the future of DVC. One of the DVC sales people at VB told last week that there would be another resort with DVC. She wouldn't say where though. We can only dream I guess for now. Later.

I spoke with several guides this past week and by piecing the info together this is what I got:

-WLV is on pace to sell out by the end of this summer.

-There is work going on to have Florida allow for pre-construction sales at the BCV.

-There are no additional points available at OKW or BWV for add-ons nor are there plans to make any available.

If the DVD gets permission to begin pre-construction sales, this will only bring the problem of no onsite property to sell quicker. Since each resort is selling quicker than the previous I wouldn't be surprised to see an annoucment soon on a fifth onsite resort. As Rich so elequently points out, the offsite properties are not big sellers.

(A CM also mentioned construction has started at MK adventureland for what is rumored to be the long awaited FireMountain)

I would LOVE for their to be a CA DVC.

But I remember a while back several posts (maybe on the rumors board) about CA not permitting DVC type resorts that have an end date as opposed to perpetual ownership. Supposedly that's why the other property was sold.

Does any one know for real what is the truth?
