DVC website acting up . . . Again

Got in early and since the site was up for reservations, I snagged the day I needed. There was another option I'd considered that would have involved calling MS when it opened. I'm thinking that they will be absolutely inundated this morning with all those people who couldn't get through yesterday. Decided a bird in the hand was worth two in the bush :teeth:

I tried until late and it wasn't working. I got up around 6:00AM and came down to look and to my surprise the one night I was trying for was still left so I booked it. It's not what I wanted, but will do. Up until today there was not one single studio available for Oct. 24th (Monday night). My daughter had to extend her stay for a better airfare, but would've had to sleep in our studio with the grandkids the last night if we couldn't find anything for that extra night. I still have her waitlist for BCV studio and with the construction I'm hoping as rooms are put in service, it might come through. So now she is BWV-S/BCV/BCV/BWV. Not the best, but they are not doing parks since their APs expired this month and they are in between years. We are doing a cruise and she was going to stay one night and fly home on Saturday, but airfare was triple the norm (over $200 pp), so stayed a few days to get a $69 far on Tuesday.
 
Update, the same thing happened again today about an hour ago. this time is was a studio for BWV pool view. I switched my BWView studio I booked this morning for the Pool view studio. Again, it was open from July to January, but the inventory went very quickly. Between folks getting lucky and waitlist grabs it was amazing to see it disappear. Sorry I didn't post early, got tied up with a phone call....check it out if you can
 
So I finally got around to calling MS and it took the person I spoke with less than 5 mins with fix my account. She said there was a system update that caused this issue. I had been trying to log in with both email address and username and neither worked. She did something on her end to make the email address login work and said from now on I'll have to use that to log in to all Disney websites. I did try to use my old user name and it didn't work but the email is working just fine.
 

I never got around to calling but I used my e-mail address instead of my user name and have been successful at getting into the system. Still using my same password as always.
 
Again, all personal opinion....

DVC does not HAVE a website. They have a pathetic weeny amateur excuse for a website. Today? This is not necessary.... there are many reliable Service Providers that can provide a reliable, sound Web Presence for any SERIOUS Corporation. This mess is a choice, based on false cost/benefit analysis.

Who to use? Top of the list - Amazon Web Services. Seriously - how many folks have had Amazon poop out, mid day? Disney currently uses HP - and they are DITCHING their service branch. HP is also under several lawsuits due to failure to perform.

Again - all personal opinion: Disney? Go hire a competent CIO.... today, we have HS graduates that get all this.

I can't log in this morning...............so frustrating. I have received that need activation code a couple times before but clearing the cookies usually made it work, but not today :(
And of course today they are closed.
I hope what I want is still available tomorrow.

Me too! It is frustrating. I can get into MDE without any problems, just cannot get into the member website.
 
maybe if we all pitch in (MORE)Disney can afford a real website.
 
I read recently that if you log into the account with a "name" there was now a problem. People were being told to now log in with an email address. Not sure if that helps anyone. I use to use either or both, but now only the email address.
 
I tried the user name they have for me and then tried email.....same results.
 
Not working for me either.

ETA: I did try with my e-mail address and was able to get in.

I have cleared my cookies, my history and login using my email. Still getting that error message asking me to activate my account. DH is not having any problems. I guess I will call this morning when I get a chance as we are packing for our trip to WDW.

I would definitely call. When I called for some reason they said I had two accounts using the same email which I thought was bizarre and that was causing the issue. She did something in their end and it was fixed in matter of seconds. Good luck!!
 
I called this morning and got my reservation :yay: On hold for 35 minutes.
CM gave me an activation code and it set up the account again. I sure hope this is not an ongoing thing.

I need to book another reservation tomorrow :eek:
 
Glad I found this thread - I was getting so frustrated trying to log in with the same info I've been logging in with for the past 8 years and getting told I needed to activate my account. The email address for user name worked!
 
Must provide one comment - without interpretation.... How often has this sort of thing occurred to everyone when they go to Amazon?

We were packing the day I last posted for a WDW trip. And then we drove to WDW, so I didn't have time to call them. However, the CM called us back with news they had fixed a problem with MDE where our reservations and tickets were completely blank, not even the standard page showed up. When she called I asked if they could fix my logon on problem with the MS website and she fixed in that afternoon. Everything is working fine now.

I wish DVC would spend more money and get some programmers that would consider the consqences of a request to programming something into the system by DVC. It appears the programmers just program what DVC wants without telling them, but if I do that, this problem will occur. It might take more programming hours, but it would be done right from the get go.
