DVC watches

When we were in Disney at the end of June we put our names on a list for the DVC watch when it became available. Today OKW called and asked if we still wanted the watches (one for each of us). I couldn't believe it they even paid for the shipping. Talk about a magical moment. I was hoping that we would still be able to get them when we return in November. I just wanted to share my good news.

I am also on the waitlist for the watches. Hope I get a call soon. Maybe I should call them since I will be out of town for several days next week. I don't remember if I gave a credit card number or not.

anyone have a picture of the watches we are talking about ? I would like to see one. By the way how much are they ? Can you only get them at OKW.

My wife took the call yesterday!!! I was on the Saratoga list.

We called our DVC friends last night after we got our call and they were able to order over the phone at OKW 407-827-7700. They were not on the list so OKW charged them an extra $5.00 per watch, but still no shipping or tax. Hope this helps anyone looking to pick one up. There is a picture of the watch in the summer issue of Vacation Magic on page 3.

Lastweek when I picked up a DVC Member Pin the CM showed me the watch. Supposedly they weren't suppose to have it until September. I think that's what she said.

They're $125.00 and made by the Fossile Company (sp).

It was nice, but looked a little too much like a man's watch for me. Now, I don't know if it comes in a man's or woman's style. But the one she showed me was rather large for a woman.

I just called OKW and was told you cannot order them directly through the resort.

I am annoyed that it was written they would be available in the Fall and came out in the middle of the Summer.

Did you ask to be connected with the gift shop? That is what our friends did. Then they spoke to someone in charge.

I too just spoke with 3 different people at OKW and was told the same thing. I am frustrated as well because we are going to be there in September and was going to purchase them then, but am affraid that they will be totally sold out before we get there.
I have e-mailed member services and know not to expect a response until they open next week. But will post when I do hear something.

Yes I did, the reply:
"You cannot order directly from the resort".

Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure why our friends were able to purchase without being "on the list". Maybe you could try "guest services" I think that is the name. My DH found a necklace for me that way, he just told them what he was looking for and they found it for him. It's worth a try.

So how do you order these watches if you cannot order through the resort ? I am interested in purchasing, but do not know where to start. I saw someone said it was in the summer issue of our DVC magazine. Is that were you order ?

Just called that number and they said they cannot sell Disney Vacation Club merchandise as they have no way to confirm membership.I said I can give you my number and they said no can do.

I really wanted one of those watches.

That 's just a load of xxxxxxxxxxx! Why would anyone who isn't a member even want one? And so what if a non-member gets one - it isn't like you could use the watch to prove you qualified for anything!

I tried the OKW # and got the same info. So I tried another resort. I just got off the phone with a gift shop manager from another resort (SSR) and they are going to send 1 mens and 1 womens out to me. Try another resort!

I wish you luck as well Dan. I don't understand why they would sell them yesterday from the resort, but not today. Has anyone else on a "list" received a call? I was just wondering if the stopped that as well. We too were told that they would not be out until Fall. We did not expect to get a call even after we signed the list. We were hoping to pick them up in November on our next trip. I wish eveyone luck in their search.

I got a call from OKW general store last Monday that the watches were in and that they would ship them to me. Since I was going to be in WDW Tuesday morning, I just had them hold them till I got there. According to the cast member that sold me the watches, they had close to 500 names on their list at OKW.
