Does anyone know more details about how a waitlist is processed....

Does the system only check for waitlist openings once a day at a particular time... midnight, noon, etc? Or does the system check multiple times throughout the day?

Does the waitlist get priority....if someone cancels the room that I'm the only one who has waitlisted those dates...does it automatically accept my waitlist request when that person cancelled? I would imagine their system isn't that robost. Or does it only happen on some type of schedule like the first question and someone browsing the site could grab it before the system honor's my waitlist request?

Thanks

I will defer to the experts for final answer, but when I asked MS this question I was told it's all manual. A Cast Member reviews and fills in the order of the waitlist queue. front of queue with single days has better chance. you get filled when all ur days are available.
I've had a 5 day waitlist at VGF since April 2021 and I knew deep down it was never going to happen but left it there anyway.

The system runs and checks for a match. The mystery is how often that happens and no one seems to have an accurate answer,

But, once the system does match it, then it has to be processed by a CM, which means it could take days to see it show up. The system won’t show is in process either so the only way to know if there is a match waiting is to call.

Now, because we don’t know how often the system runs, rooms have been known to show up in inventory and people snagged them, even for what they are waiting on.

Now that could mean it’s another room showing up and their waitlist is matched, they just don’t know it….or, it’s because things do show up in between the system check.

Its why most people stalk the website now even when they have one in place.
