DVC waitlist ?'s

I'm a bit confused
I am renting points for a stay this Jan. Right now all that is open is SSR, which honestly, I really don't want to stay at. I was really hoping for AKV, and would take any view.
Now my DVC owner told me she would add me to the waitlist for AKV, which is great, but from what I see it's pretty hit or miss.
So the questions:
1. Will she be able to specify I would take any view that opens up, or can I only try for one?
2. What's the best way to try and get a room? I've read about two different methods, just booking for night by night as it opens up and trying to fill your stay or just waiting for the whole thing to open up.
I wouldn't mind a split stay between 2 rooms, but wouldn't love the idea of moving back a forth.
3. Finally, is there a benifit to calling and asking everyday? I can't call as I'm not a Member, but would feel bad asking my owner to do that. Is the waitlist an automatic thing that once your on it, you'll be moved up as things open up?

WL is now all (days) or nothing, no more day by day.
You can WL booking category (value, standard, savannah), not sure if they still WL any category.

FYI: "animals are not scheduled to be on Sunset Savanna from January 15, 2009, through April 15, 2009" If you get Sunset,(WILL GET DETERMINED 30 DAYS BEFORE ARRIVAL) your owner will get points back, and you will get no animals...

Personally I wouldn't want to rent points using a wait list.

There are no guarantees and I like firm plans.

Maybe it would be better if you postponed your trip and contacted a AKV owner 11 months before your desired dates. That way you can get what you want and you can stay for sure in Kidani Village.

Well, there really isnt an option of changing my travel dates anymore than I have. And I did hear that there will be no animals, but actually their not the reason I really want to stay there. I worked at a zoo for years, so I've been more up close and person with these animals than they'd be there anyway!
I'm hoping that more people with change their plans if there are no animals and I'll get the room!

So no more booking day by day, that's good to know!

You may not see any WL movement until 30 days before arrival. I am not sure how the 30 day holding points issue would work in this case.

If any consecutive days are available now, you could get those and WL for the rest.
