DVC Villas Beds

So we own at BWV, BCV and AKL and of course we stayed at all those resorts in addition to the Poly. My question is this....

We just got back from a WONDERFUL stay at GFV and I noticed my husband didn't complain once about the bed. Come to think of it, while I can sleep on a rock, I felt super comfy in them as well.

In the past, on the car ride home, he would always remark how he was disappointed the beds at the Westin were so much better than Disney and I had to agree, but this time, we both felt they must have better mattresses at GFV.

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the quality of the mattresses between resorts, etc. or if the Monorail resorts are simply higher end and therefore have better beds? Anyone notice these differences at any of the other villas?

Also, are mattresses included in the refurbs over at BWV or BCV?

I'm really curious because I actually just changed my ressie from an Epcot resort for October to the Contemporary and one of the reasons was because I was hoping that was the case and that the beds at the Contemporary will also be better.

That wasn't only reason though, the kids were so excited with the GFV that they now want to try all the resorts so we've decided to do that.

Thanks in advance for your input!

GFV is newer, so those mattresses may very well be newer. May simply be a factor of age and replacement rate.

IMO everything at VGF is better. The beds, linens, towels, furnishings, appliances. GF/VGF is Disney's flagship resort at WDW and they treat it as such.

We felt the same, the pillows, the toiletries, were all higher quality. Do you find the same is true at the Contemporary or just GF/VGF?

I stayed at BWV in December and one day they were bringing mattresses down the hall (they were wrapped, so looked new). I'm usually not picky, the only time I remember an issue was at OKW years ago, the bed was as hard as a rock.

My husband and I felt the same way about the beds at VGF. Does anyone know what kind of mattress it is? We are searching for a new mattress and I'd love to get something as close to it as possible.

Funny. I'm at VGF right now and just a little while ago was thinking the bed felt kind of hard. Lol. I don't feelany major difference to any other DVC bed although I too have had what seemed to be an extra firm rock at OKW. My consistently favorite beds have been BLT although I imagine they'll be changing those during the refurb. I have no idea how often the resorts change beds though I suspect a bit more frequently than they were refurbing in the past. VGF is not a heavenly bed though.

My back is still recovering from a two week stay at Kidani Village. Happens every time we stay there. Definitely not the best bed, but I love it anyway.

Nothing compares to the Westin Heavenly bed. It was the only reason I would do overnight work trips when DS was a baby...a full nights sleep on that bed! They do sell that mattress, if you want to recreate the Heavenly Bed at home.

All the mattresses are Sealy but the ones at the GF and GFV are the highest level in the hotel line.

Well I'll let you know what he thinks about the BLT mattress after September. VGF was no Westin Heavenly mattress, but as another poster said, my hubby really suffered at Kidani and then Boardwalk was pretty bad too! I can't tell you the difference because the minute I'm in Disney, I could care less about the bed and I'm usually so tired you couldn't keep me awake if you tried.
