I have seen it somewhere before but can someone remind me how to get the a/c in the rooms to quit changing the temperature. We are at beach club and everytime we go to bed or leave the room it shuts the a/c off.

Thanks in advance,
Tracy

I have not had to try overriding yet myself, but this is what I have always been told to do.

Here are the directions to overriding the a/c system:

"On the thermostat push the power button and the down arrow (that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly there willbe the letters "bp" where the temp numbers usually are. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. The maintenance man said that you might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours. We found that it stayed on bypass for a couple of days at a time. It was great to come back to a cold room or not wake up in the middle of the night in a sweat again. The maintenance man (Christopher ) that did this for us said it was not a problem doing this as they do it for people all the time. Guess they get a lot of complaints."
Not to be critical of any other poster but the ballon thing is just not an option. When it ends up in a corner, its stuck there and the ac will shut off after a few minutes. In addition you have to stand on a chair to adjust the air vent in a way to get the air to circulate "around" the room if to even be mildly successful in getting the ballon to keep moving.Besides, why buy a ballon when setting the thermostat is FREE.
This process with the thermostat has worked for us at POP, ALL STARS, CBR, Y&B, BW,CR and GF.Our most recent stay (last week) was at WL, had a refurb room but the thermo was old style, just set it and forget it.

Thanks bama106.
This is something we could have used 2 weeks ago in SSR when the heat index was up to near 100 each day.
Nights were rough with the room getting warm while we slept. Had to keep getting up and moving around.
Great tip.

Unfortunately, I was in AKV Kidani 2 weeks ago and this trick didn't work. :(

I don't know which one to try, but I copied these various methods for different thermostats off another thread. So maybe one of these would do the trick:

Press the power button and the down arrow button simultaneously. The letters "bp" should appear in the display indicating you are in "bypass" mode. Then you can use the up/down buttons to set the temperature. You may have to do this every 24 hours or every few days.

The sensor by-pass for our kind of thermostat was simple--I just pressed the "off" button and both the temperature "up/down" buttons all at the same time. "BP' appears in the thermostat, and then it operates as most other themostats in most other hotels in the US

And yet another:

The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)

1) Press the ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN buttons together. The digital display will change to 'CA'.

2) Press the ON/OFF and DOWN button together. The digital display will change to 'OR" (or something similar).

You have just deactivated the motion sensor. This will last for three days at which point you will have to repeat the process.

TO CHANGE AC THERMOSTAT SETTINGS THE THERMOSTAT HAS TO BE PUT INTO "SERVICE MODE" IT IS SIMPLE TO DO BY PRESSING THE FOLLOWING KEYS ON THE FRONT OF THE THERMOSTAT.

EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE:

1. PRESS (AND KEEP PRESSED) THE F/C KEY

2. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE DISPLAY KEY.

4. RELEASE THE F/C KEY.

UPON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS SEQUENCE, THE LCD WILL DISPLAY PAR (PARAMETER) AND THE PARAMETER NUMBER.

1. PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL # 6 APPEARS. (NEW MODELS # 24)

2. PRESS THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. THE CURRENT LOW TEMPERATURE IS DISPLAYED.

4. PRESS THE DOWN ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL THE DESIRED ROOM
TEMPERATURE APPEARS

5. PRESS THE F/C KEY
