DVC Villa or multiple rooms at AKL

There will be 11 of us going next October (4 adults, 7 children) and I am wondering about the grand villas? Do they have the Disney feel or do you think 3 rooms at the AKL would be a better choice?

If you are talking about Oct 04, you are probably out of luck getting a GV at a DVC resort. It might be possible, but unlikely. If you are talking about Oct 05, you will want to get with a member who has the points you need a the resort you want the GV at (OKW, BWV, SSR) and get that reservation made in Dec for October. October is very popular with DVC members because of the Food & Wine Festival.

Without addressing the question of availability of a GV at that time, I'd offer a couple of suggestions.

First, how well do you all know each other? Living in the same GV is being a lot closer than three separate rooms. If you have traveled together before, this shouldn't be a problem.

Second, GV's have some great facilities that you won't get in individual hotel rooms such as a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Plus room to strech out.

Third, you mentioned AKL. Well, that place is so unique -- and IMHO should be experienced at least once by everybody -- that your group would probably really enjoy it there.

Tough choice.
