Not sure what to expect for weather in February if we decide to book a DVC trip during the kids' school break (Presidents' week). It has to beat what we have for weather here in CT during the Feb. school break.

We have airline credit I have to use before March '06 so I'm considering a trip for just me and my two daughters. I would love to try Vero Beach, but I'm afraid it might be too cold.

For those who have taken a DVC trip in February, was it too cold? Any suggestions?

We've been to both VB and WDW during President's week, but it's been a few years. We managed to swim at both. We're from Minnesota, and Florida almost always feels warmer in February than it does in Minnesota, LOL.

The best you can really do for a future visit is to check the averages - I use www.weather.com

Best wishes -

we were in wdw this past feb.did get a couple of dips in the pool in the afternoon.a couple of days in the 80's but at night cool upper 50's.we left nyc when it was in the teens so it felt very warm to us.also rain only one night out of 8 when we were asleep.

We have visited the first week of February twice (2001 and 2004). Each time we had one day that it misted all day, and a few days that were overcast until noon. Other than that, it was sunshine with temps in the 70's to 80's most of the time. The crowds were light also.

We go every year that week. I think the weather is great. You'll get a couple of really warm days, some overcast days, some cool nights, and very little rain. My kids swim almost every day. I usually swim 2-3 days. And don't let people scare you about the crowds--it's nothing like the major holidays, and with the nice weather you don't notice crowds as much.

The only pain is packing because you'll need everything--long pants, shorts, a coat, bathing suit and everything in between.

If you're coming from CT than it will seem really nice.

Not writing this to rain on your parade, but rather warn you that the weather might NOT be so nice. Want you to be prepared. We went the first week of February this year and (except for one day) it was not pleasant weather. The temps only got as high as the 50s in the day and got down to low 40s at night, even 39 one night. That's not so bad compared to Connecticut, except that it was very windy. The wind chill made it much more unpleasant, we felt quite cold most days. It was far too cold to sit out on the balcony, would never have attempted the pools. We actually ran from the car to the room because it was cold. This was a non park trip, we would have been quite uncomfortable in the parks without sweatshirts and jackets.

Having been in the parks in the heat of summer, I actually would prefer the February weather IF I was prepared with warmer clothes.

I have to agree with mikesmom, February weather is much more comfortable than the heat of the summer in Florida.

Also being from CT, I don't want to discourage you because it is warmer than around here during President's week, but not warm enough for us. Next time we travel during that time we are heading further south to Cancun.

We were at BWV this past Pres. week, and it was overcast/rain 4 days in a row, cool and only in the 60's. The 2 sunny days we had we were in the pool or at BB and the sun felt great.

Parks were crowded and we just got used to throwing on the rain gear to head out.

Superbowl weekend in Orlando was chilly this year. We enjoyed and needed hot chocolate on a day trip we took to Blue Springs State Park to see the manatees there. However, the pools at DVC are nicely heated. I don't have any time off in February next year, but we are going down to WDW for MLKjr weekend in January.

I think a DVC trip would be a nice way to use your airline credit!

We went this year the week before Pres Day until the Tuesday after. Coming from Pittsburgh, the temps seemed tropical. As indicated earlier in the thread, we had temps ranging from 80's to high 60's during the day, cooler @ night. We had no problem swimming in the heated pools, even during the evening on the warmer nights. Additionally, we had absolutely no rain - hooray! Can't say the same for our trip in June.

I went to WDW President's week for many years running. It is crowded but the weather can be anything, rain is unusual. As for swimming if you mean sunning yourself then it is not likely. If you get one or two days to enjoy the pool you will be lucky. I am from CT also and the weather down there is great compared to how it is up here in mid-Feb. So enjoy the weather and if you get some days in mid-70's then go swimming. :sunny:
