Hello all,

I am wondering if any other DVC members have or have had this issue. Basically, my wife and I (live together, have the same last name) are joint owners of the same DVC contract. We both receive duplicate mail via US post office from DVC (e.g. Membership Quarterly Magazine, Add-on leaflets, etc).

I contacted DVC Members Services 3 months ago to have them stop this mailer duplication, but it still continues. Today, I phoned (and followed up by email) DVC member services to have them research this issue and ONLY have mailed literature sent to one of us.

Specifically, my wife and I want to cut down on DVC overhead costs (albeit small) – in the development and mailing of these items; and secondly, to be more considerate of the environment. GS and a GS administrator both stated, Disney appreciates our effort... they too, are conscientious of the environment, but the (GS and GS Administrators) do NOT have control of mailers because it is an automated process. They further stated that it is up to GS Programmers to update distribution lists and this task would be added to their ever growing list of priorities...:headache: So should we just get used to it??? :sad2:

That said – If this happens to you, please send an email to members@disneyvacationclub.com

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We do not get separate mailings but just today we received two Disney Files magazines and that has never happened. I wondered if it was a mistake or if we were meant to give one away to someone in hopes of promoting sales.

I agree though, we do not need two.

We get duplicates too! I chalked it up to having two master contracts, one set comes under my name and the other under my husband.

Same here. I did not get duplicate mailings until we purchased a separate master contract.

Be careful, if you request for them to stop one mailing, you may end up with none!!!

We only have 1 master contract, but two names on the contract --- and we get duplicates. Like the prior poster warns, we've hesitated about calling about it out of fear of not getting anything sent.

I know that there are some things that the are legally required to mail separately. It's happened with various things that my dh and I own jointly. Legal notices about changes, that type of thing, will come to both of us separately. Not sure if that is the case here, but it might be a consideration.

We both are joint owners of all our contracts (all under one master contract) and we receive duplicate mailings - which we appreciate!

I get a copy to take to work to read, husband has a copy to keep with him. We are both owners. We feel entitled to each having our own copy.

Sadly, I too, feel and understand (legally) this might be the case - That all mail, regardless of content, must be pushed to all types of DVC purchasers.

Thanks for the feedback all!:thumbsup2

My husband and I are also joint owners, live in the same house, same last name, and everything has always been, and is currently addressed to him. That sort of bothers me, because I am the one who pushed to purchase and I am the one in control of the payments, and I am the "points master" and vacation planner in our home, and there was never an option given to us as to whom the mail should be addressed, i.e. Mr. & Mrs, or Mr., or Mrs.:confused3

We own 1 contract together and still received 2 magazines in 2 separate envelopes. What a waste of resources.

I hate that, it's the same with everything, the bank etc.... I have a job that pays equally to my husband's job and contribute equally to the household funds.

My DH and I have one contract (although an OKW contract will close soon) and both our names are on the contract. We only receive one copy of everything, and we have DIFFERENT last names! :confused3

Hmm
Dh and I have different last names but we only get one mailing of everything...

Non Disney rant (sorry) but at least sorta' related to above:

Two things that bug me are when stuff shows up at our house (which I bought before we got married) for my wife's (now deceased but divorced before that) ex-husband, his family, or supposedly for 'her' [generally junk mail] back when she had his last name! None of those names were EVER legitimately associated with my address!!! Oh well...

Second, State Farm insurance goes the opposite route of Disney; they send letters asking the above 'wrong' names to get quotes from them when DW & I already HAVE their insurance on the house & both cars! Get a clue and CHECK FOR DUPLICATE ADDRESSES!!!
