After doing some research , I found that the 10% off UMP was not as bad an offer than I originally thought.
Using Deb's site for prices I came up with the following:

4 Day hopper(DC) $196.10,4 day Ump(DVC) $199.38
5 Day Hopper+ (DC) $249.12,5 day UMP (DVC) $237.55

My question : In August I will be going down on a huge family trip - ( 1-GV,1-2br, and 2 studios) 25 people. I will be in the GV with 8 guests, the rest all family will be spread out in the other units. My name is on all the Ressies , plus the guests on the other three.
Being that the UMP is the better deal who would qualify for the Discount. My wife and I will be there a day early and be picking up people at the Airport so we will be at check in for all rooms.
Could I get 22 UMPS (8 gv,8 2br,3 eac studio)?
Just read on this site that all members of the party except AP holders have to purchase. (Is this true and if it is, and if all rooms can purchase Umps can - does this mean all rooms or can my guests in the 2br opt for Umps while my studio guest opt for hoppers)?

Officially the UMP discount is available to the member and "guests staying in the same vacation home (room) as the member." However, we have found in your situation where we have a group and are using more than one room that they will give the discount to all. Also, if you want to leave one of the rooms and the guests in it off of the passes they will allow that.

I haven't considered a LOS pass (just can't help calling it that) since I became a DVC member in '93. However, based on this years vacation plans, I'm now taking a look at it. My question is: Are they still bundling it in their traditioanl fashion of 8 nights/7 days, 7 nights/6 days, etc...? Specifically, if you arrive for a (7) night stay, can you purchase it for (6) days? Anyone???

Thanks, Jose <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

The passes are still "bundled" the same way but the resort allows you to leave off arrival or departure day; thus if you are there 7 nights/8days you can buy a 6night/7day pass.

Thanks Drusba....

It's a shame you can't custom-tailor that to your needs. I guess I'll have to re-examine my situation to see which works best in this case...Park Hoppers or UHP.

Jose
