DVC, trying to set up waitlist, while holding a room.

I have a week at SSR. I'd like to set up a waitlist at AKL for few days. When I go to modify , it says do you want to replace this with another stay. It gives the range of days from SSR, but that 6 days, I only want to waitlist 2. Will it cancel the rest of the week at SSR if the waitlist hits?

It’s my understanding that you can’t replace parts of a stay. I’ve seen it recommended that if you want to do a split stay, book your first resort into two stays and then put in a waitlist for whichever stay you want to replace.

If you have enough points, just create the waitlist and don’t check off the option of replacing an existing reservation. If it fills, modify your existing reservation. If you don’t do that and your AKL WL fills, it will replace your entire SSR stay.

That's was my concern. Glad I checked here. I don't have the points to book separately.

If you want to replace a few days and did not set it up as two from the start, or don’t have the points to book it and then cancel, give MS a call and have them set it up for you.

They can set it up with a note that you only want those dates replaces so when the CM process it, they will now,

Online only allows all or nothing.
