DVC trip insurance (before use year starts)

Hi....question for those who bought DVC trip insurance for a use year that hasn't started yet. If you bought the insurance for a use year that doesn't start for months yet what was the effective date on your confirmation of coverage email document from Travelex?

I am buying DVC trip insurance for my 2017 and 2018 use years (April Use year) for of a trip planned for Nov '17...it uses points from '17 and some from '18.

Based on the Description of Coverage (first sentence under Important Notes), the Effective Date is the date you pay the premium.

Thanks! Yes, that's what I thought and MS said. But on the confirmation email I got from Travelex where they list use year, use year start and end dates and effective date...the effective date is listed 01-APR-18 . MS said it can't be any date but that since they are 2018 pts and that's when use year starts, so they said my Nov '17 trip is covered.
But there is a line on the confirmation letter from Travelex that says:
All policy benefits are determined at time of claim and any reason for cancellation must occur after the Effective Date of the policy.

So that line made me nervous. But if it just goes by when I made the payment I should be good?
 
If purchase the insurance for a future UY and then borrow any of those points, that stay is covered. So it can't go by the first day of the UY.
 

Yah, this is strange. I just bought insurance for 2017 and 2018 use years. I booked a stay at our home resort using banked 2017 and regular 2018 points, for April 2018, our UY is February. The 2017 policy says effective 17-July-2018, Use Year Start Date: 17-July-2017, Use Year End Date 16-July-2018. I couldn't set any earlier date on the purchase web site.
The 2018 policy says effective 1-Feb-2018, UY start 1-Feb-2018, UY end 31-Jan-2019

I guess the way to sort this out is to follow the note on the confirmation of coverage:
