DVC Travel Show in Rochester?

I received an invite to Disney Vacation Club Travel Show at the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY. The dates are Nov 13-16. The flyer says "learn how to make the most of your Membership" and some remarkable offers for you at this event only.

Does anyone know anything more about this? Has DVC ever done something like this before? I RSVP'd my dh and I for Thu. the 13th. We are planning on doing an add-on, but were waiting for a new incentive. Rochester is about 3.5 hours from us, so we'd have to stay overnight. I wonder if the "remarkable offers" will be worth the trip.

Looks pretty basic but the don't mention the 25 point ad-ons menoned in the flyer.

I wonder if they'll have anything downstate, specifically Long Island! I'd be there for sure, but Rochester is alittle to far for this Islander

We got our invite today also. Might make it an overnight even though we are an hour away. Like to get primed for our Disney Vacation that begins a week later! It will be nice to try one of the first road shows. Disney usually starts programs with a bang to see how they are accepted. With the economy not sure we would add on, but will have to listen to the incentives.

i got that in the mail today too. It says that you can add on 25 points for 2600.00 but I don't think that is a good deal, does anyone else? We might go out there. It is a 3 hour trip for us but we have friends in rochester that we could see as well. still undecided.

I got an invitation too. My kids love the Strong Museum. Disney + the Strong Museum are two of our favorite things. We're going to the Sunday afternoon show. I'm wondering what they do at these shows besides the sales pitch.

In reading through this thread, I am convinced there must be different mailings. For example, mine said nothing specific, nothing about 25 point add-ons, and mine only had 11/14- 11/16, not 11/13. When I logged on, the only Saturday time was 1 pm. I am not a DVC member, and I am wondering if there are different presentations depending on whether you own or not.

I'm going. Two hours away. I can't wait!!!!

My invitation talked about add on points, character greetings, etc. Live over an hour away and are going to try and find a good time to go.

I got a mailer too, 13th-16th I am going 4pm Sat. The rest of the choices were 7pm, much too late for my kids. I am kind of afraid to go because I know I will cave and ad on. They did put the 25 point thing on mine too, which I can afford but what kind of ressie can you make with that ? Unless they give you oodles of incentives !
