Could someone explain the positives and negs of dvc travel insurance vs. insuremytrip.com

On the dvc site is says cover your disney vacation trips for a year for $89!


We usually take 3 trips to dvc and also incorporate a disney cruise.

Would this cover all these trips for $89!

You might want to look into this more closely. When we wanted to use the travel insurance thru DVC it was per Use Year. So if you used points from more than one use year you had to pay the premium for each use year.

That is correct it is based on UY. Say you have an Aug. UY and you plan a trip for July 25-Aug.10,then you would have to buy 2 yrs. of travel insurance.

insuremytrip will not cover a points reservation as there is no cash value to insure.

I believe it covers your MF 's for the points used and all the incidental losses. Flight,.. correct me i' m wrong someone.
