DVC Transfer Policy

My computer has been down for a few months, so I'm a little behind with this transferring of pts. My scenerio is.... I have two sets of friends going to WDW next year at different times. I was planning on making their reservations for them. We are also planning on going at yet another time. I am going to have to have pts. transferred into my account to accomodate everyone. Is this going to be possible for me to do?

You can still make as many reservations for anyone as long as you have enough points.

We are also planning on going at yet another time. I am going to have to have pts. transferred into my account to accomodate everyone. Is this going to be possible for me to do?

As long as you can find one person who has enough points to transfer to you, you can still do this. Keep in mind, Disney is now enforcing one transfer per contract (either in or out) per year. So you won't be able to have multiple people transferring points into your account.

If you can't find someone with enough points willing to transfer to you, you can always rent points the more traditional way and have the other owner(s) make reservations for you. If you are reserving multiple villas this might be an easier way to go.

Do you know when this went into effect?
So, what if i have a Dec. UY. I am planning a trip in April/May 2007 which will be during my Dec. 2006 UY. I am borrowing 100 2007 Dec. UY points and getting a transfer of 44 April 2007 UY.
Since these APril 2007 are being used in 2007, what UY would this count against as the one time transfer? If I need additoinal points for an Oct. 2007 trip, would I have to 'rent' them because I cannot transfer them?
Would i be blocked from another transfer from 2006 UY or 2007 UY???

I believe if you are getting a transer of April 2007 points into your 2007 use year, that's the only transfer you are allowed for your 2007 use year. You will not be able to get another transfer for additional points needed in October 2007.

Your best bet is to get a transfer that is large enough to cover the additional points you need for BOTH trips.

The limit of one transfer has been enforced since August 1. If you will be making a reservation soon for next April - just be sure to complete the transfer prior to December 1 as that would fall in your 2005 Use Year and those points could be banked for use in April, 2007. You could then have more points transferred into your account after December 1.

I am curious...if I had a transfer into 06 BEFORE this new rule took effect, am I still allowed one transfer for the remainder of 06.

I am looking to possibly transfer points again (if possible) from the same person. We both have the same resort and same use year.

My understanding is that you will be allowed ONE transfer in either direction per Use Year. If you had already made two transfers prior to August 1, you would have no problem, but after that date MS is enforcing the rule by not allowing more than one transfer per Use Year. It would be best to check with MS for the definitive answer though- they are the ones who will either allow it or not.
