DVC tour/sales pitch

I have received an information packet for Saratoga Springs, and I will be traveling to WDW with my Wife and 2 boys at the end of August for a 9-day vacation. I was wondering how long the tour/discussion of the DVC would take, and if there are any activities to keep a 5 and 8 year old busy while Mom and Dad "talk business".... thanks....

If you go on the tour, have your financial ducks in a row and be ready to buy/not buy. Once you've taken the tour, you have 3 days upon returning home to take advantage of a discount. ($750 at this time.)

Look for a post called "Sales Tactics". It should be on the 1st 2 or 3 pages of this forum.

You'll probably get a lot of advice that you can save buying resale.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I had no idea they offered a discount for "immediate" purchase. I'll look up the Sales Tactics thread.

We just took the tour 10 days ago. It took 90 minutes and there was a supervised kids center for my 9 and 7 YO (but not my 2YO) with toys, games, video games, etc. There is an ice cream parlor where the whole family can enjoy ice cream before being driven back. The presentation is very low pressure. I was impressed by that. We considered buying ($95/pt) but in the end decided to buy a resale at OKW for $70/pt. I just mailed the deposit today. Enjoy the tour.

Hubby and I did the tour on June 17th. We really wanted to purchase but financially couldn't do it yet. We are hoping for the first of the year. Anyway our tour took about 2-2 1/2 hours. It depends on how many questions that you ask. Don't forget that you get special fastpasses for your time that you don't get to spend at the parks.

Thanks for the info. My kids should be fine at the game room and ice cream parlor... Maybe we'll do the tour earlier in our vacation so that we can take advantage of the fastpasses.

That would be a good idea! We took our tour at the end of our trip and I ended up having to just give those fastpasses away!!! I didn't want them to be wasted!
