We recently bought DVC at BLT, without seeing the model in person. We will be staying at SSR using our DPs in May/June. We really want to see the model of BLT since the resort will not be open yet. How do we go about doing this? Do we need to set up a tour, will they even do a tour for us since we are already members?:confused3

You can go over between 5-7 pm and walk around the models. Just ask any of the DVC people at the kiosks. I'm not sure if it's 7 days a week.

We were able to do this in January. We just went to the welcome center and asked if our Guide was in. She popped out ot say hi, but she had to attend a meeting. She had one of the interns "escort" us to the models, but we were pretty much on our own to tour them. We enjoyed seeing them and it made BLT feel more "real" since it is not open yet.

We added on at BLT over the phone and told our guide we'd be visiting in Feb. He said to give him a call once we arrived. He set aside a time to meet and took us to see the models. They treated us wonderfully at the DVC office while we were waiting, even though we were just visiting! They even gave us van transportation to the park we were going to afterward.

Well I know you can pretty much tour anytime. I was down a couple of years ago looking to purchase resales to add onto our membership and our guide was there, and not only was very helpful with that, but was only too happy to show us around the current project ( SSR at the time ). I think they'll be happy to show you the model.

This is great news! Can't wait to go and see the model of our new home!! And show the inlaws as well!!

in Jan I was able to go to any of the kiosks and setup a member tour. They were able to do it immediately too which was nice. So that's something to keep in mind if you can't make it during the member open hours in the evening.

We are here now staying at SSR on our developer points. My parents are with us and they wanted to see the models since we are coming back to Kidani in October. We just went over and asked to look. A guide took us and another family through the models within a five minute wait.

I was just down there a couple of weeks ago and simply called my guide a few days before leaving - plus she arranged my p/u time and location right there on the phone with me, and then the van pulled up almost to the moment of when I was to be picked up once I was actually on-site. It made it quite convenient and easy to do.

We made an appointment like other posters a few weeks prior to our trip, we went to meet our guide as well as to see the models.

2nd DVC trip we went to the open house to see BLT rooms.

We just stopped in one early afternoon on our way to the pool and told them at the desk we were current members and would like to see the models. They asked us to wait -- hey free cookies and lemonaide, I was happy. It took about 15 minutes, but someone came to get us and walked us through the models quickly. There wasn't any sales pitch, and we were out of there in another 15 minutes or so.
