We have been separated and we are getting things in order. I know I should just call DVC but not ready to sit there and face all my demons. My soon to be ex have the DVC under her name but she is not interested with it. Is there an easy way to transfer it to my name and would I need lawyers for this?

Easy assuming cooperation and about $50. Contact DVC to get their Title transfer information. You'll need a quite claim deed an ROFR waiver and record both. Closing costs are your only cost though I think DVC recently reinstituted a transfer fee, don't know if it'll apply in this situation. If there is a loan, it'll have to be paid off prior to the change and for that situation, you should likely use a closing service which will escalate the cost but still $275-300 can get it done for the online sites that do this (Timeshare Transfers, JRA). You'll still need ROFR prior or they will charge you extra.

thank you Dean...

This will work if the membership is all paid off. If it is not, then you may not be able to transfer...Did you think about selling it and sharing the proceeds? You could start over fresh yourself...
