DVC Swap

Quick Question: I am well aware of the DVC resale market and the various companies involved. However, I was wondering if there are any websites dedicated in whole or in part to someone wishing to swap a DVC ownership for another +/- some additional cash if necessary.

Is this even possible?

Any information is appreciated.

I doubt there is sufficient interest in such swaps to warrant a specific listing location. In fact, to the best of my knowledge DVC forums tend to shy away from any form of buyer/seller matching.

You can avoid commissions by finding a buyer on your own. No reason to "trade" in order to accomplish that. Closing costs and other filing fees are unavoidable because a real estate transfer is occurring.

Ultimately your best course will probably be two transactions--one sale and one purchase.

A friend of mine also sold his via Ebay then bought a diff one via Ebay as well.

It's possible but not especially feasible. I've done it with a non DVC timeshare for DVC and I'd investigated several such deals DVC for DVC. Invariably one party is more realistic than the other and you can't get together. It's easier just to sell and rebuy if that's the direction you want to go. However, there are costs involved of closing both directions and commissions both ways if a broker is involved. Generally it's better just to buy a smaller add on resale using the money you'd have wasted accomplishing the "trade".

I have two contract at OKW with different UYs. A while back I wanted to swap one UY for another just so I could merge all the points and avoid the hassel of managing two contracts. I tried to post this on the Rent / Trade board but I didn't have enough prior posts to qualify. I just bagged it but if there was another way to easily advertise this kind of swap I would still consider it.
