DH and I are thinking of going back to WDW next year for a quick 2-night resort-only trip. I really want to stay at a resort I haven't stayed at yet, but I'm thinking it will be impossible to get 7 months out, especially for Valentine's Day. I haven't watched availability for that date though, so that's just a conjecture. Which resorts MIGHT have availability on the 14th and 15th? Of course, looking to stay in a studio, which decreases my chances!

I'm not sure if anybody can give you an answer for the 7 month availability. I'd recommend booking your home resort at the 11 month window, and then modify it at the 7 month window if you can find an available studio at a different resort you want to try. Or you could cancel at the 7 month window if nothing good shows up, but watch your banking deadline.

I guess we will pick other dates then. Even though AKV is our home resort, I really want to try a new place. We've already been to SSR and OKW, too. We have a very limited amount of points, so we want to try for the first two weekends of February or the first weekend of May due to low points. If we can't go next year, we will shoot for 2025.

Availability for those dates is usually relatively good, much better than during Fall Frenzy. Where have you not stayed? Would you consider a VGF Resort Studio in Big Pine Key? Since it didn’t open until June, I don’t think we can project availability for it yet, but there are about 200 studios there. And Poly almost always has 7-month availability during the lower demand times of year.

However, BWV will be undergoing refurbishment, so availability there won’t be normal.

You have given me some hope!!! I would absolutely love a VGF resort studio in Big Pine Key! VGF is one of the resorts we haven't stayed at, and even though the theming of VGF is not my cup of tea, I think it would be perfect to celebrate Valentine's Day (even if we have to do so the weekend before). The other resorts we haven't stayed at are Riviera and Beach Club. I know Beach Club will be nearly impossible, even for 2 nights. I would prefer it during warmer weather in order to use SAB, so my plan there is to book a short trip based solely on getting Beach Club for maybe April or May one year, knowing I'll probably get only one night and will need to do a split stay.

Good luck! I’d check availability at those three resorts periodically as your 7-month window approaches, especially VGF since we don’t have any history there. But I think you’ll be successful, especially if you can budget enough points for the higher-priced studios at each resort (and hope to book the lower-priced ones).
