DVC split stay and DDP

We are staying at OKW for three nights and then BLT for two nights. I'm going to add the DDP as soon as the member services website comes back up. Since these are separate reservations, I understand I'll be purchasing the DDP separately for each trip. Do I need to be concerned about losing credits from the first trip when the second trip's DDP kicks in? Do I need to make sure we use everything up before checking in at BLT or anything like that?

And Memory Maker isn't affected, correct?

Here is your chance to go deluxe at OKW and skip the DDP for BLT. The deluxe plan has an appetizer and 3 TS credits per day per person and you can use the credits until midnight your first night at BLT.

We had a split stay in Dec, both with DDP, first AKV Jambo then VGF. We had two leftover CS credit from the first stay which I wanted to use at the Grand for lunch. We checked OUT of AKV Jambo the morning of checkout and headed to the Grand. We checked into the Grand and had decided while waiting for the room to use our CS for lunch. We had a problem using our CS from AKV at the Grand even though it was noon and WELL before the "by midnight" deadline. We didn't plan on using a TS the first night of our Grand stay, but the CM at the Grand told us that a "hiccup" existed with Dining Plans for split stays. The CM told us that if we needed to use a TS the FIRST night of the split stay(2nd resort) a "way around" it would be to charge the TS to the room instead of using our MB, then the next morning they would "make an internal adjustment". Who knows? Anyway, perhaps by now the "hiccup" of using DDP with a split stay is resolved! HOPE SO! GOOD LUCK! I suggest calling MS and inquiring about this...

I had the same problem as jerseygirl. When we got to resort #2 we couldn't use our credits from the first resort. We had to pay cash and the front desk had to manually use the credits and refund us. It was a pita. So now we try to make sure we use up our credits first. But with online checkin it closes your first resort when the new one is available. I would suggest you go to the front desk the night before checking out and get a print out of your credits left.

I like your suggestion about getting a printout of unused credits night before check out. "Couldn't hurt". Hope that this issue gets resolved some how!

Just checking, I booked HDDR and paid cash bc I didn't want to use two credits. If I upgrade to deluxe dining, (currently have nothing) I can't switch that over, correct? I wish I had thought of this first. Would have made sense to book it and pay cash on our night of no dining plan OR go ahead and use two credits since we would have so many. That would've given me the $300 to put towards Wednesday's meals.

So on your shared day, you can use all your credits up before midnight after check-in with resort number 2 without a problem? I didn't plan on using any of the second half credits on that shared day.

And with online checkin that could be pretty early in the day.[/QUOTE Even if you check OUT of 1st resort and check into 2nd resort with LEFTOVER credits from 1st DDP, the dining credits from 2nd resort will not show up till early morning the following day. KEY is if you have DDP at both resorts use All credits from 1st resort before checking into second. Ours got messed up and that is my understanding when you have DDP of both resorts of a split stay. CM's at VGF were very helpful though.This coming October won't be an issue because we only have DDP 1st resort. In this case we have till 11:59pm of split stay day to use leftover credits. 2nd part we will be "eating and drinking" at F&W with no DDP.

I think in general, the credits show up first thing that morning (regardless of online check-in). But, when you have a split stay, you must use up all of the first stay's credits before any of the second will show up. Luckily, ours worked out ok. We had qs left on our check out #1/ check in #2 day. Once we used those qs credits up, all of our second stay's credits showed up. This could get tricky though, if say, you have snacks you were planning on using up on the moving day and you also wanted to use ts or qs from your new plan. Just know in advance, and you'll be fine.

That's what I would do too!!! Last year we did one night in a 2BR, then switched to 2 studios b/c that's all that was available. We took advantage of it by booking deluxe for the 1st night, and then taking 2 days to use up all the credits.

Hmmm. MAYBE we will get DELUXE DDP and use the leftover credits 2nd part of split stay OOP before midnight! DELUXE doesn't have appetizer anymore though, 3 tableservice, 2 snacks, 1 refillable mug.. not a bad idea, something to consider!

Just FYI, the DELUXE plan DOES have the app for 2016. Apparently it was a misprint.
So my question is what if you DO NOT have DDP on the second half of your stay, will I encounter these same issues?

I was referring to '15..The deluxe DOES have an appetizer with each TS?? To answer your question if you do not have a DDP for second stay you should not have any issues with using your dining plan on the 2nd day of the split stay if there are remaining credits from the 1st part of the split stay.

Thanks for the info!!! Yes, the deluxe DOES have an app for '15 and '16. Maybe I read your post wrong but I thought you were saying that the deluxe did NOT include the app.
