DVC Sparkling Wristbands

Careful with the red sparkly band. The color bleeds onto your skin and clothing. I'm hoping my white Aualani Rash guard isn't ruined.

Was literally going to reply this! Bought a really nice light-colored t-shirt at Kualoa Ranch and couldn't understand why the next day it had red smears all over it... then noticed the wristband was missing half its color. Didn't come out in the wash either :'(

Question about this. If I am the only one with the app and the other adults have a printed card, will they get the member ones if we go separately to get the wristbands?

If one in the room is a Y member then they all get...they dont accept the card,,always wanted to see my Y..but done once and good for whole time

I'm in the same boat as @IandGsmom. I'm the only one with the app. So if I send my DH down to pick them up, he needs to bring my phone? Do they scan it or just look at it? Should I assume a screenshot of it won't work?

I showed a screenshot of the DVC - Y the whole time. That’s all they were looking for. 😊

None of these steps should be necessary anymore.

They now have the Mickey heads like you would tap your MagicBand to at Walt Disney World. You touch your Aulani room key to them, and the host should see that you're a DVC member on their computer screen. I believe it might also play a "Welcome Home" sound but I've never been able to hear it clearly. You shouldn't have to show anyone anything, whether your room key, your phone, or your physical membership card.

They’ve always had those and always want proof of your DVC status (blue card previously and now the screenshot). Some CMs won’t ask for the card if they already see the sparkly bands from previous days, but some will.

You shouldn't assume your experience is universal and throw around words like "always" or "never."

I'm telling you I've been given a sparkly wristband after tapping the touchpoint and I've never showed anyone anything. I'm not even a blue card member, so I'd have nothing to show them, but something on that screen told them to give me sparkly bands.

Pretty much anything posted on the DISboards is a personal experience only comment, and anyone familiar with Disney knows interactions with CMs are YMMV situations. If you actually read my post, you’d see there is mention of alternatives happening at the key scan. 😉

So just so I understand (because we are Aulani noobs), to pick up wristbands we for sure need a key card and possibly proof of DVC membership with screenshots being acceptable?

I can only speak to our experience the past 2 weeks we were there.
Had to show and tap room key every day,,,or if no room key,,they would look you up with room number,,and ask name,,they somehow check off who has recieved a band that day
They did ask to see the Y on our app,,,both here and to get discount in the shops and spa.
Once confirmed no longer had to show Y at wristband,,but had to confirm room for the day.
Only need the Y for the shiny wrist bands,,,not that big of a deal for me,,,but girls wanted them.

As for Capt,,,the Mickey heads dont tell them what type of dvc member you are.

They’ve always done the same thing with my wife and I, and after multiple trips have never failed to do so.
